New Year Resolutions?

Is anyone planning on trying to lose weight for the new year? If so what are you going to try to get to your goals?

Fad diets are no good in my (far from expert) opinion. If you eat right and exercise you will lose weight, look better, and be in better health. A lot of fad diets cause you to lose muscle mass along with fat. When you get off the diet some weight will come back (the fat) but you won't weigh as much as you did before you started. The reason for that is that the muscle doens't come back and muscle tissue is more dense (heavier per same volume) than fatty tissue.

My goal is 190lbs and 8% bodyfat by may. I'm at about 195 and 10-11% right now so I thing a good high-protien diet is the key and I should make it. I totally agree about fad diets, the only way to lose bodyfat and keep it off is a gradual change in lifestyle/eating habits. I do admit to using thermogenics on occassion to spice up the fat loss cycle, but that's on top of an already decent diet. Can't wait 'til warmer weather so I can get out and jog again. Cardio indoors sux!
