Skip, need a favor please.
I was wondering if you knew the shop foreman at your dealership well? I cant get a straight answer out of the guy at the dealership where we bought our Mach. They were all about talking to me when I told them I wanted to trade in our Explorer on a Lightning, that is until I said not until the Mach issue has been resolved.
The issue - Our 03 Mach is one of those that seem to have the valve tick issue and I would like to know what Ford is doing to fix it. Is it a recall yet? TSB? What would you suggest in how to deal with this? Either way that Foreman at Noth Central can kiss my ass and I won't be buying my Lightning there. Thanks for your time Skip. Steve |

You'll just have to go to service and ask to talk to him. His name is Mike Cain. He's a really nice guy and doesn't mind helping people. Even if your car doesn't have a recall you should still be under warranty. Unless you have over 36,000 miles of course. Which I doubt.

Thanks guys. The car only has about 9k miles on it and the tick in question has been very evident since around 2k. Car is completely stock including the air silencer and has been Ford maintained with oil changes and rotation. I'll defintely give him a call to see what can be done.
As usual you guys rock! Steve |

the fix is a new driver's side cylinder head. you need to go to a dealership, and SPECIFICALLY tell your service advisor that your motor makes a loud ticking noise. tell him to check TSBs/SSMs for your VIN. you should be getting a new head.
