I know that there can be several answers to the question I am about to ask.
I just put a pro 5.0 shifter in my 1989 LX 5.0. I did not have the shifter adjusted for first gear cause I went to take a cruise and it popped right out of first and back into nuetral. Now when I am driving the tranny kinda slips or misses( and it is so mild it is not like the normal slipping I have experenced. It will do it in any gear, at any given time is the weird thing. I am going to check the fluid level tonight. Any thoughts on what the hell this would be great |

Sounds like the clutch is fried, to adj it if you still have the stock quadrent pull up on the pedal, if you hear a pop it took up some slack in the cable if not then it its adj and your clutch is fried. The only thing that can slip on and standard are the clutch or tires so if your tires aint spinning its the clutch
