I've checked every city on this side of 35E. Just trying to let a 'shoe in' so to speak. Why don't you break your radio and go ask for me? I know those handhelds dont like being dropped.

With radios - anything. I program/install/write personalities for them, as well as maintaining and trouble shooting the hardware at the sites that supports the system.

My cousin was telling me the other day that they were gunna start taking applications, ever since then I've been going to the gym and I really want to get into shape before I apply for the academy. I'll probably do a ride along with her to see if I really like it, but as of now that is what I want to do!

Yep, was in a meeting today and it was verified that they have 80 spots in 3 classes planned for fiscal year 2011. I also know they are processing all of the previous applicants who were put on hold when they canceled classes this year. My nephew is in that group.

It wouldn't surprise me if 10K or more apply for those 80 spots.

just looked at the last list and theres 500+ on the list. you are saying those 500 will be pooled with the current test or will they be "ahead" of these test takers?

My nephew was on the current list and was put on hold soon after he took the test and the physical on the same day. It was about the time they canceled the last few academy classes. He got a call last month and is currently processing right now.

I assume that means the people who have been on hold are ahead of the new test takers.

thats what i was afraid of. for a competitive score you'd have to get at least a 95 and theres going to be well over 500 people that fit the description especially counting the last group.

Well this is what I got last week..

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Fort Worth Police Department.

We have reviewed your application submitted on 07/22/2010 for the position of POLICE TRAINEE and have determined that you do not meet the minimum qualifications for the position.

I guess ill be going with my back up plan then..Good luck to those who didn't receive that email..

The city manager has submitted a budget that deletes 40 positions on the PD for next year and I was told it was 40 of the budgeted 80 positions we had for academy classes.

GL to everyone who has applied, but it appears there will be few and far between positions available for us in the next few years.

I got an e-mail to go take the test on the 31st. So i'll be up there but knowing that they'll only take 40 people is kinda bleh. Looks like i'll have to study the guide a little more to make sure i get as close to the top as i can.

Although i know most of the people drop off during the physical test which is the easy part for me. So we'll see. Hopefully i make it. If not then i'll just go to dallas when i get enough college hours.
