I'm sure no one gives a shit, but after getting my nuts kicked in for the past 14 months, I've finally finished UPT. We all got our assignments tonight and I got a T-6 FAIP (First Assignment Instructor Pilot)! If you finish in the top 3 of your class, you're eligible to stick around and be an instructor and that's what I'll be for the next 3 years. Sucks that I won't get to deploy and fight the fight with the rest of my bros, but I love the T-6 and I'm going to love teaching dudes how to fly. Can't wait to get started!

Thanks everyone! I'm really pumped and can't wait to get back into the T-6. I never thought of myself as an instructor but I guess a few of my old IPs and Flight Commanders lobbied for me to come back to the T-6 Squadron to be an IP. It's an honor for sure and I'm excited about getting the opportunity to make such an impact on young pilot's lives.

Those T-6 planes fly over all day long here in Enid, they look like buzzards just doing circles, then sometimes it looks and sounds like WW II outside.
Congrats |

Thanks everyone!
I'm really excited about everything. Staying in Del Rio another 3 years isn't the best news, but it could be worse. I could be going to Clovis, NM like one of my other classmates. PIT (Primary Instructor Training) is at Randolph AFB for 4 months so at least I'll be in SA for a while making good TDY money. The best news is I'll finally have my wings and I won't be treated like an f'n kid anymore!

Hey what were the drops at your UPT? I'm guessing you went to Randolph for it? Just curious to see whats getting thrown around right now.

wow yea I would have taken FAIP too. Although I hear KC-10's get some pretty cozy deployments. Unreal though, all heavys. I know a buddy of mine went through UPT there and he was second in his class and got B-52s, first drop was an A-10 if Im not mistaken
