Capital One - Yes, Again

Yes, I am still fighting with them. This time I am at a loss as to what to do.

Long story short, I filed a dispute with them due to them showing my final payment due was 80 days late when I have bank statements when I paid the final amount.

I faxed a dispute to the appropriate number given by their 800 number. I received a call a day or two after my dispute was faxed, however, I missed the phone call due to poor reception where I work. Since then, I have been unable to reach this person. I've called everyday since I received that initial call, and no answer. I even left voicemails to which it has not been returned. I call in the morning, afternoon, evening, and never get through. When I call the 800 number and ask to speak to a manager I get placed on hold for 20 minutes until I either have to disconnect due to work or I get dropped.

Is there anything I can do in lieu of calling such a poor excuse of a company and getting absolutely no where?

Get a name of the manager and send a ceritified letter to him maybe? I dunno man. I don't think I could be in your position without absolutely exploding on some motherfucker, which should eventually get me right through.

Adress certified mail to the OOP. (office of the President) this is handled by them directly, go over the 10$/hr customer service people, 14/hr supervisors, and the 60k/year manager. straight to the throat. I have worked these jobs in mortgage.

Might be able to file something or send a letter to the FTC if it's credit/mortgage related. That will have a better effect than the BBB will. It's worth looking into, for sure.

I pulled my credit recently and it shows as an open account. It also doesn't show information after April or so this year. Im just surprised my credit is still in the "good to whatever is after good" range with all this crap going on.

If you're resorting to the BBB, I'm going to assume that disputing the inaccurate information with the credit reporting agency was ineffective.

There technically isn't anything delinquent as of yet. The account shows open on my credit and doesn't show any information from April or so to now. With that being said, I haven't resorted to credit agency.

Like I said, Ive never had to do any of this before and it is all new to me.

I had the same issue with BOA, I went to my local branch and asked to speak to a manager.
I explained everything, presented my documentation and they handled it on the spot. I received verification via snail mail about a week later that the issue was resolved. I do have an account there, maybe that helped.
It might be worth a shot.

Your first step should be to report the innacuracy to the 3 credit reporting agencies..

If it is still showing as an open account, especially if it is showing a balance it may be hurting his score (unseasoned installment debt and overall debt). If he disputes it as it being a closed account, and being paid in full then they will more than likely just confirm that without reporting any further on possible delinquency.

Do you mind pointing me in the direction to file with a credit reporting agency, or anyone for that matter?

I checked the original confirmation I received when I filed with the BBB and it shows the following:
Case opened date: 11/03/2009
Case closed date: 11/03/2009

and directly below that reads:

*** This complaint is currently being processed by another BBB. ***

Is it me or is this contradicting?

Yep, tons of shit. I was browsing through DPQM today and it lists all accounts.

This is where I disputed items on my credit report. You can use the free annual site to run 3 free reports a year. Do one of those and check to see if C1 is on there, if so, get on the above site and dispute.
