I need a home appraisal

Im trying to do a loan modification and they turned me down several months back when the economy was real bad. They said that I owed more then my house was worth. And they said if I could provide an appraisal I could turn it in and resubmit.
Oh yea I need the hook up. Im not asking for it to be free (although it would be nice)
Thanks Noah

In my years in mortgage banking, they will do their independent "BPO" . screw an appraisal. dont mean to shit in your corn flakes but they were getting you off the line. NO investor will take and appraisal that an un-offiliated 3rd party said the value to be as a basis to modify.

You being negative does not mean no mod. Who is your lender?

Their are degrees of mods which include, principal reduction and rate reduction, this is a core mod, <-- best imo

then frest start mods where they capitalize on delinquent amounts to bring loan current. ..just to name a few.

just be careful on which path you go down. A mod does not always fix the root problem./

Yea I got the feeling that he didnt really know what he was talking about. I also dont think they would take the 3rd party appraisal. But I was thinking if I could get it cheap enough it was worth a shot. My lender is litton loan services. He gave me a number to HUD and said they work with them on this stuff and that HUD had more programs to offer.

thrsh is rifght about the appraisal issue, I work for an investor (Citi) and we are tearing appraisals apart left and right. You can get one, but the invstor will usually send it to Appr. Review and they will run an online appraisal through an Appraisal Management Co. (AMC) and go with the value they get from them. Which is usually lower in my experiences, go to HUD and talk to them, screw Litton or for that fact screw any investor.

What's the best way to get Chase to drop my PMI? According to my last appraisal (by a Chase approved appraiser) I have 24% equity in the property. I did all of their paperwork and submitted it correctly but now with their run around it's been over 90 days and they won't accept their own appraisal. I don't want to throw away another $350 only to be denied again.
