My wife is a CPA., is why I was sarcastic. I have been told that they are required to audit a specified percent every year. You may have just had your number called. but if you are hiding nothing then dont worry. just wait for the mail...

i had a cpa doing my work as well.. ended up having to pay her for her fuck up and the irs

I got that fucker 2 years ago. I had always looked forward to the income tax checks they sent every year. Then got the audit letter. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. It cost me $7000. Just have your bankstatements printed for the year in question. If you owe anything back to them pay that shit off as fast as possible. Sell what you have to, you do not want to deal with their payment system.

I had a cpa doing my taxes, everything has been the same forever. The letter says the want to look at my schedule c deductions for my chl business. Everything is legit, i have all my receipts and documents, I hope it was just my turn and not a fuck up on behalf of my cpa. I just don't like the IRS.(obvious reasons).

I have been jacking with them for the past year.
I got the same letter, and even though I have repeatedly sent them the proof they are asking for, they send me a reply letter saying I owe the same, plus the interest for the few months it takes them to respond.
Mine was for PMI that I claimed, Tax on a new car, and Property Taxes. I have ALL the documentation and they still will not take it off. At this point I am just riding it out so it will just be taken out of my '09 return.
