I'm toying with the idea of putting a system in my car. Speakers/amp/sub etc... I went up to Car Toys JUST to check out their sound room to find a sound that I liked and what it would take to duplicate it in my car, and was told that a Sub wouldn't fit in the back of my car w/o removing my spare. Since it is my daily driver.. I don't really want to do that.

So.. any pics/ideas on systems in a fox?

Don't worry EW.. I'll be heading your way if I decide to do this :D

So you can't put a woofer in a hatchback mustang without removing the spare?

that's what I was told.. he said "we'd have to remove your spare and build a custom box". I don't believe him.. I'm not an expert on audio by any means.. but there are MANY ways of doing things.. so I'm looking for alternatives

Do you guys at AutoSound Bedford have experience w/ Fox hatchbacks?

Whoever told you that you have to remove the spare is a crackhead. There is so much room in a hatch you can do just about any combination of woofers you want too.

I'm not sure what has more room, the fox hatches or an SN95 trunk. But, I've got a box that has 2.125 inside cu ft (for a single 15" sub) to fit into my cobra without pulling the rear seats to put in. I still have somewhat reasonable access to my spare and should still have room for a baby stroller.

So yeah, as long as you're creative with sub(s) boxes, you should be able to have access to your spare like EW says.

That guy really has to be a crackhead u can just place the boxs right up next to ur back seats, U can put ur amp on ur back seat where mine is etc. Its easy as hell to do a system in a fox

Hey buddy, I need to get an extra 40 bucks from ya because when I changed your blinker light, the blinker fluid was sooo low that it burnd out the entire unit that I went ahead and replaced without your authority. Sounds like a USA motorsports kind of deal!

yeah.. that's why I don't get my work done there.. just used their sound rooms.. (car toys). Don't get me wrong, if I removed my spare and used that space for a sub, it would look really good.

When he said that.. I was like.. "mmkay.. whatever" but the whole idea of this thread was to see different options for a fox...

Were they trying to push a jl w7 on you. I could see that box taking up enough room to make the spare unavailable
