I keep getting an error on my wmp saying "cannot get the audio stream, not audio hardware detected" I think this means that there are no speakers or headphones detected. Is that right or not? If not, whats the deal? I hate watching vids with no sound!!
Thanks

I think that would mean it can't see your sound card. Reload drivers...that will be 500.00 please drive through :)

What sound card and what os?
Probably the easiest way, once you've determined the sound card, go to the manufacturer's website, and download the latest drivers for your OS. Then, open up your device manager (Win9x: Right Click My Computer > Properties > Device Manager Tab. Win2k/XP: Right Click My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager Button), find your soundcard under "Audio / Video And Game Devices", and right click remove (Win9x) or uninstall (2k/XP). Then install the drivers you downloaded, follow the onscreen prompts, reboot if necissary, and that should do it.
In anycase, the manufacturer's website should have detailed instructions on how to do this.

I have no way of knowing that. I only have access at work. We have Novell sign-ons and I never remember what if it's windows whatever. I was just hoping maybe it was something easy that I could fix. Oh well, looks like no sound for me. What sucks is it was working before the IS rejects messed with it!!!!
No offense to any IS people just the ones here aren't to bright and never get anything done:D .

DOH! Yeah, if it's a work computer, you're SOL, unless you just have an uncannily cool IT department.
