It finally happened, One of our members was pulled over tonight leaving Sonic.

The coped pulled him over and told him he knows we all meet there to street race. He even accused him of racing.

There was no racing going on tonight at all and thank you guys for being mature enough not to do it.

The only thing is, when you are leaving out of sonic DO NOT GET ON IT I am sure the cop is there watching us now.

We are going to have to prove the cops wrong and show them we are there just to hang out and BS with each other.

No he did not get a ticket; The Cop just harassed him. And told him he could have taken him to jail for street racing.

Someone got pulled over for doing burnouts as they were leaving the parking lot and did not get a ticket, why would we move?

I vote no need to move, it's not a drag racing/street racing GTG for me anyway.

umm, He did not do a burnout when he left. The cop followed him on the access of 20 and did not pull him over till he got on 820.

Yep, it was me. Once again, I was pulled over for "Driving Too Good" while heading home from the Arlington GTG. I did not get on it leaving Sonic, I just cruised out of there. Well a County man picked me up on the access road at Little Rd and road my ass all the way down 20 and halfway up 820. I was just running straight down the road 65mph, ( guess I was speeding but cars were flying by us) then he finally decides to pull me over. I asked if there was a problem, he began by saying I looked suspicious, I guess since I wasn't hauling ass and weaving in and out of traffic like the average driver. Then he continues to let me know that he knows that I am street racing in the area and that is a jailable offence. Ok, my 18 year old, STOCK, mustang with almost 206k miles on it is winning all my races. I don't street race. He continued to say that he knows it is me racing up and down his streets. Then made his little comment about NO street racing and told me to take it home.

In the furure, when we all leave a GTG, lighten up on the throttle when we leave. Most of you guys lit them up leavin last night. This behavior just draws attention to us and gives us a ricer image.:D

I am guilty as charged, but my foot slipped off the accelerator so I looked like an idiot, no tire spin, just a sputtering 33 year old car.LOL

I agree, spinning out is probably not wise.

I kinda wish cops like him would have the conversation recorded so that when they lie to their supervisors about making those comments, it would bite them in their ASS.

Did not really pay too much attention to the guy except that he out weighed me by atleast 100 lbs, but right before he detained me, he pulled up along side of me to give me dirty looks and I noticed sheriff on the side of the car.

<--- weighs in at 210lbs

yea ive got on it a couple times when leaving, ill cut it out, though i wasnt out there last night. people have been racing in that area for over 4 years, so my best guess is thats where all the harassment came from, and besides that, a money hungry pd will try to get somehting from a parking lot full of mustangs.

screw him. he pulled you over because of your out of state plates. county dick heads have nothing better to do. I know several Arlington cops and they said they are cool with our GTG's as long as we don't race.

A lot of PD's have that now. I know Grapevine you can go to the court house and get an audio and I video. I never tried so I don't know how easy it is (it was only like 3 bucks for each) but I saw the sign saying it.

Homealone, check with the pd that pulled you over if you want to complain about him. Just a thought.

i dont know about busting anybodys chops, i think we need to think before we tear out of there. you dont need to go and make the cops and their cop buddys mad and really make em wanna watch. unless it happens again by the same cop, let it go. and quit driving like a maniac "homealone"

I started to peel out in the Slowbra but the traction control kicked in....ended up pulling pretty hard once it grabbed though. I need to quit doin' that.....

<----Will refrain from peel-outs and votes to keep the GTG in the same location :D

I've pulled into traffic a couple of times where because of the power this car makes at the slightest touch of the gas the T/C has kicked in (due to breaking traction) and the car has bogged. I can mash the gas pedal all the way down and the car will just sit there! All the while the oncoming cars are headed straight for me!

Or you could be cool and have a button in your glovebox like my dad's car... of course the Prelude isn't cool enough for T/C... or AC or a radio.
