The Fun-n-Grudge will be held a week later than usual, because it looks like rain on the 2nd. But, mainly because I'm taking the wife to Bosier for her B-day.:D So this gives you all a full week to set something up. If you want to call someone out do so. Rock on!!!

Mike,
I was gonna post about it the other day, but I forgot about it. There was a 1977-78 T/A, black with t-tops that went 6.7's on Saturday night in between the rounds of KOTH. I don't know who owned it, or if it was even still Pontiac powered, but it still had the stock hood/shaker, and was pretty quiet! Do you know the guy?

Crap, I wished I had been out there to see that! I don't know who it is though. It was such a nice weekend that me and the wife sat on the back porch and fired up the grill.
I've been looking at engine combos and i'm amazed at how easy it is to make power with a 455. With out of the box edels and a small comp cams 274xe hyd cam you get 500hp at the crank. With compression, porting, and a solid roller cam it just goes up from there. I've seen guys getting an easy 650-700 crank HP (or more) with the right combo. So I think 6.7's should be doable N/A with a built up engine and some weight reduction. And then you can spray it :D

I'm going if I can get my torque boxes welded, hope to run a few of yall there. Look for me in a dark blue coupe with either wleds or 10 holes on back and chrome pony's on front. with a dented hood and fucked up rear bumper cover.

Mike, I should know about your arm today, if my brother's boss is still in. Maybe you won't be jackstand racing much longer

I think it's a good idea that you put everything on hold for you and your wife, seeing as how you hardly ever show up, let alone race!
BTW, you're slow!!!!!!!

Why don't you have it on the 10th, KOTH is running that night, so the track will be hooking.

The track hooks just fine on friday. Plus, it is cheaper to get in and more room to park.

It no fun being out there making runs (or more likely sitting in the staging lanes) when it's packed in. Fridays are much better for a casual GTG.

Dad is home resting (very good news) and doesn't need visitors so I went to the track instead.
Pittman arm is bent. I just need to put it all back together.
I had to leave early. Did the HPP guys ever get a run in?

I didn't see anyone I knew out there. I saw a couple of familar faces, but I never met them before so I only stayed for about an hour. I did see Pro50s car. But at first I thought he was going home because he was loading it up on the trailer. Then next thing I know it was back off the trailer. I didn't see it make a pass though. I did see a purple coupe(I think) run. It seemed to scoot pretty good. Billy where were you? When did you get out there?

I wasn't impressed with to much either. Not many people seemed to show. Either that or they left before I got there. But, there are alot of cars that usually go out there that run hard. So, don't give up on going. ;) It happens once a month, so we hope to see you out there next month.

Went, made 3 runs on slicks that weren't much better than a previous street tire pass.
It was the first time to launch on slicks with the new clutch and the car was bogging badly due to some heavy grip with the McCleod/Valeo HD setup. I think I didn't have enough air in the tires and they gripped really well. On the 3rd run, I launched at 4800 and it felt like a 1.8 60'. All in all the car was running like ass with BAD air and full interior. I was a full .8 off my best and my mph was 5 off.
I will make one complaint about Denton. they really need to find someone else to handle the timeslips. this is the 5th time in a row that I have gone to that track and "grandma" has lost my timeslip on a run that felt good. I know others on this site have had the same problems. If we are going out there and risking breakage or really trying to tune a car, those timeslips are VERY important to us. Denton Dragway......Fix this problem. It was not even busy Friday night. I even politely asked her if there were other numbers that were close to mine if they had just miskeyed and she said " there are just too many for me to look through". There were maybe 20 sitting there on the counter. Bye the way, this was less than 2 minutes after my run. Just enough time to park and walk halfway down the pits to the timeing tower.
Rant complete.

Me, Billy, Aggie97 & Garrison89' were sitting in the back of my pickup about 2/3 way down the track.

We had the red 86 GT out there. We finally went 6.37@112. Went back for the second license pass that must be quicker than 6.39 and the car sounded like ass on the 2 step. Load up go home. Find out later that the dumbass crew guy (me) went to set the retard up a few more degrees and turned the wrong knob on the MSD. The box thought it was an odd-fire 6 cyl!!! No wonder it sounded like ass!!!
Anyway, we are done here until St. Louis Wed night. Going to try for that 9.99 or better and then get ready for Wild Street.
By the way, the car IS street legal. Matt drove it from his house in Lake Dallas to mine in Flower Mound today..and back. Never got over 210 degrees!! Not bad!
C-ya in St. Louis!

My only good pass at denton was better than a few that are on the fastest list.I was not happy with the time anyway so i won't post it.

Atleast you had some MPH!!!! My times were down right pathetic compared to my bests. My car just hates humidity which lends to the fact that it runs so rich. Now on Sunday.........the car ran like a raped ape!!!!

You forgot to mention breaking a hood pin.
Your neighbor went to get your hood and they wouldn't give it to him. They gave it to fred..
I was out there in my Nike's but the girl that was supposed to race me ended up wearing her flip flops out there. ;)
