Is there some kind of adapter that I can use to access the HD on my dead laptop? I need to get some stuff off of there and I can't wait until I get around to getting this thing repaired :(

Fry's has some laptop to IDE adapters for like $6 last I checked. I don't use 'em often, but damned if they don't come in handy when you need em! :D

We use those same adapters at work when we need to get data of a laptop HDD. They work really well and are really useful if you have a laptop.

I support an all Dell laptop shop for Cingular and it has saved my butt several times. I think I paid around $12.00 or so for mine. If they are down to $6.00 thats even better - pickup two!

I see guys building compact MP3 servers and putting them in their cars - the smaller interface helps them keep the physical size of the box small.

Thanks guys, I'll be hitting up the new Fry's on Friday to buy that cable.
