: Does anyone keep a race log?
Monsoon X 04-15-2003, 07:28 AM I have been keeping one ever since I put the Auto back in.
I keep records of the times (60' etc...), weather conditions, mods and weight and any other notes on the sides.
It's interesting to see the progression and also to track the improvements.
ie: I can tell that the DA has a huge factor. Also I can tell that the 4.10s did help it's just that other things changed that can affect the times.
For instance. All my 7.30s have been with avg. 1.60 60's but in low DA or - DA weather. (3390lb weight)
When I went to Denton w/ the 3.73s I was running 7.40s with similar 60's but the weather was +1500. (3390lbs)
Went to Kennedale last Fri and ran in the .30s again with worse 60's (1.61s all night.) but it was done in +1400 DA and at 3445lbs.
So instead of getting bummed out, you compare. I recommend doing it.
AnotherRedHead 04-15-2003, 07:34 AM I do, but everytime I go, I seem to go faster....6.33, 6.25, 6.20, 6.18, 6.12....I dunno how much further it can go!
Monsoon X 04-15-2003, 07:35 AM LOL.
That's just too fast for two wheels!

www.weatherunderground.com They even have a history option so you can see what the conditions were on a given day.
I then use a density altitude calculator to find the DA
Monsoon X 04-15-2003, 07:51 AM I think a good thing to do (which I will be doing) is to get a summer time wide band tuning and one for the winter.

FlowJack 04-15-2003, 10:03 AM It's something I've been wanting to do. I've got a box filled with every time slip in in the past 16 months. It's so full now they pop out when I open the box.
Thanks for the weather links. I haven't been paying attention to DA.

DA won't really matter for you. You have good weather in a bottle.
46Tbird 04-15-2003, 10:51 AM About halfway down... (http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92871) ;) :D
<---- reference to Title
32VfromHell 04-15-2003, 06:45 PM The DA of the day i ran a 13.9 here in lubbock: 4982
Try running anything in that fellas.
aggie97 04-15-2003, 06:49 PM I have been keeping track of the times but never paid attention to the DA. I think I just found what I will be doing tonight.......
right click, insert column!!!!
Ok, figured out DA on 12/14/02 was pretty good but others out there at Ennis that day posted -1300'.
I found 2/8/03 at denton was -959'. This was when I ran my best time and Broke the rear end.
I went back to my first trips to the track at ennis back in Aug 02 and found that the weather that night was terrible and the DA was 2300+.
Hmm, just became a winter racer!!!!
