how strick is denton with helmets

just wondering how strick they are I was told that I needed one last weekend, but dont have one, my car is only running in the low 8's. I see a lot of LS1's hitting faster times without them all the time. Should I try t find one ore what?

I've ran plenty of high 7's out there with no helment, but I had dark window tint.

You should find one just for the sake of the fact that you need one, it's only $100 for a decent one, but at Denton you'll be alright for a while if you're in the 8's....just don't be surprised when you're asked to wear one.

Last time I went they asked me in the staging lanes if I had one, and I dont, he said if you go 8.5 you have to have one, but I was running 8.0's and they never said anything else...

I'm always amazed when I see people trying to skate by without having the safety equipment they need.

Blue90Coupe - go buy yourself a helmet - it's not worth risking your life over a lousy $100.

get used to wearing it, if you plan on being fast, you will have too. after awhile you get used to it, and always wear it.

I feel weard making a pass without it now.

Well, I have seen both ways at denton. IF the car looks fast, guarantee you will need one. As for the slicks theory, last time I was there I was in the 8.4's on ET streets and they said nothing about no helmet. Course, the car is quiet and looks stock. He actually asked me if I had a DS loop though. That was a first at any track including ennis!!!! I do so it was no big deal.
