Hey guys/girls. I dont post much but I check the forums regularly. I am more into the sportbike scene but I love my toys. Anyway.... back to the story. I am going home through Garland headed towards Mesquite. This 87 Z-28 pulls up next to me on shiloh and wants to run me. I tell him I am running bone stock and that there isnt enough room for us to run on shiloh. He tells me I am scared and burns out and takes off. Well, a bit further up the road after shiloh turned into gus thomasson, I find him waiting for me. He continues to buzz around me and reving his engine time and time again. I finally gave in and said I was only going to do this once and told him to follw me to the highway(30) service road.
We pull over to the side and wait until there is no traffic buzzing by us. In the mean time he gives me the rules and distance to how far we are racing and to suggest he says go because "mustang guys" always jump before the signal. I agree to it just to get it over with. Well I cant launch a stick without spinning to save my life. He says go and sure enough.... I am spinning leaving a white cloud of smoke. But once I hooked up.... I reeled him in. By the time I was ready to shift to 3rd I was past him and pulled him consistantly through 4th. I never had to go to 5th because it was way over by then. I pull over and he follows and tried to get me for a rematch. He didnt believe my car is stock because of how hard I pulled him.He suppossedly had a cam and shouldnt be pulled by a "stocker" like that. I told him I didnt know what else to say and had nothing else to prove.
So I am pretty proud of myself and my little old 5.0. Come to think of it, that guy reminded me of those guys in the Dodge commercials about the Hemi. LOL:eek: Have a good one guys/gals.
