Well, we decided to go run "Clash of the titans" ( a heads up drag racing series) with Matt Garzonies car this week end. For those that don't know, this is our test mule for the new M2 heads and cam package. After all of the dyno queen accusations here's a little look into what this heads and cam package is capable of on a well driven 6 speed car.

First pass this morning
60 ft 1.49
330ft 4.50
1/8 ET 6.98
1/8 MPH 99.03
1/4 ET 10.91
1/4 MPH 125.80

2nd pass
60ft 1.52
330ft 4.52
1/8 ET 6.99
1/8 MPH 99.14
1/4 ET 10.91
1/4 MPH 126.08

3rd pass
60 ft 1.48
330ft 4.46
1/8 ET 6.94
1/8 MPH 99.00
1/4 ET 10.86 :worship:
1/4 MPH 125.94

Here are the actuall time slips. Oh BTW the car is N/A and wieghs 3400 lbs with driver.

Kirk, LS1s have 346 c.i.

Also, keep in mind this is a 3400 lbs. daily driver (+50 miles to work and back) not a gutted solid roller trailer queen with a glide or C4. And while it is not the fastest vehicle ever made it certainly is impressive enough to park it in the #12 spot on the top 20 list within a blanket of PA cars.

That's getting on down the track!! I wonder what those heads would do on a stroker setup...

Al you should have gone, it was an awesome event. We had to run EZ street (because we were on slicks), Matts car was the second slowest car in the class  . Patrick from school of automotive machine in houston, set a new record in the class at 8.93 15X MPH. EZ street is an all motor class, and there were more low 9 second mustangs than you could shake a stick at. Every time Matt pulled to the line there was a car with wheelie bars and a shoot next to him :D. I'm going 10.5 racing baby, this is an awesome race series!!!

Sounds like the FRC needs a M2 package.;) I'll give you guys a call later this week.

Congrats on the numbers.

Awesome numbers Matt and Sean. Running tens on motor is BADA$$. And doing it on your own signature heads and cam, you just can't beat it. Are you cutting those 60's on the stock suspension? It looks like Matt needs to do a little work on the tree.:D .

Daivd,

I was driving my own car, I wouldn't have it anyother way :).

RunNE1,

Yes those 60's were on the stock suspension, the car even has the stock shocks on it still

We will be shooting for some 10.7's next week.

I got about another month of football, after that I'm going to get back into the racing scene and see what I can do.

Phuck it, I'm going true 10.5 racing. I'm working on putting together a rocket block 18 degree headed set up. Probably some where around 440 ci. Just plain sick and tired of trying to be the fastest, " ticking time bomb driving fool " on the planet :D. The LS1 is kickass for street racing and track racing on a local level, but I want to go real racing.

That sounds like a good plan. And the 10.5 races actually pay MONEY too. I'm hoping to be able to run some of that stuff eventually...
