Well I finally decided to go to the track and get used to my E/T Streets. I kept 18 psi in them the whole time so it would track straight, and the car went straight down the track like a bullet. I ran a few shake down passes so I wouldn't get thrown off the track. I will just post my only 2 1/4 mile times, and my best 1/8 trap.

first pass there was my best 1/8th mile trap:
60' - 2.057
330' - 5.296
1/8 - 7.757 @ 102.65
This was with leaving at idle, just to get a feel for the track and the tires.

First full pass:
60' - 1.787
330' - 4.991
1/8 - 7.481 @ 101.56
1000' - 9.594
1/4 - 11.332 @ 130.60
Needless to say I was excited, but the launch hooked well, but wasn't what I was looking for. I need to let a little bit of air out of them, but the track wasn't prepped for shit, so considering that, it wasn't too bad.
Next pass, I was going to stay in it, but they told me one more 11 and I was gone so I let out. This is what it did run, almost identical to the prior:
60' - 1.791
330' - 5.030
1/8 - 7.536 @ 101.27
This would have been a low 11 as well, I just wanted to try to get a better launch, which didn't happen.

Next pass felt similar to the 2 before it, but it went into second and third hard, so I stayed in it. This was my BEST and FINAL pass:
60' - 1.793
330' - 4.988
1/8 - 7.458 @ 100.54
1000' - 9.555
1/4 - 11.283 @ 131.36:eek:

All-in-all I was very pleased with my first experience with the stickies... They are a hell of a lot of fun when the car doesn't walk around. I need to find the happy medium between bad ass 60' and walking at the top. At 18 psi they didn't walk a bit, just went perfectly straight. Maybe next time I will go to like 16 or so and see if I can get some 1.6 60 foots and get close to 10s;)

Oops, forgot to add, all times were run on 93 Octane gas, so power was down a little from my race tune... @ 40 hp and 20 tq.

Also the car weighed 3,520 with me in it.;)

Thanks Clayton, I wish I could say my car ran 10s, but it didn't get there. I am sure it would have with the race gas, but aw well, still happy with what I did. Maybe it is time for a pulley upgrade so I won't have to worry about 10s next time.;)

The last three runs were all dumping the clutch at 2800. Yes I was ready on the last run, I just hate the damn instant green light crap.;)

What size et street? 16 lbs is a lot, when I was running 28x12.5 et street (28x10.5 slick) I ran them at 11 to 12 lbs. 60ft in the 1.30s.

Nice passes man, congrats. Get the 60' down in the 1.5x range and you'll have some easy 10 second timeslips.

I guess this ought to silence all the critics about that your car is fucking fast! I have known all along that you would get to the track and put down some wicked times. 11.2@ 131:eek: You are a 60ft away from high 10's and that my friend is FUCKING FAST as is 11.2 ;) :D again congrats Matt...'H'

I am done playing with it for a while, when can you finish making it look nice???;)

Tires are 26 x 11.5 x 15 on a 15 x 8 Weld. I had 18 psi in them. The track was seriously underprepped.:(

Well I didn't spin past about 30 feet, but I couldn't get the tires to pull the car out of the hole faster than a high 1.7 w/o them spinning a little either, so yes a hotter track would have helped. My friend's Vette was kicking out in fourth a couple times. The track prep was non-existent, but it was mostly 15-16 second FWD crap, so I understand why they wouldn't prep it.

LOL, No the pulley isn't on YET... it should trap low 40s when it is, and I am thinking bout putting that on very very soon... These last passes felt slow. It feels a lot slower when it hooks up and goes straight...

No, I won't be changing the suspension up, it is a road car, and designed to corner well. Anyone that has seen it has seen the brakes and that it is 1/4 inch above the tires at all corners. It is as low as I can put it on these bad ass Dallas roads! I was really thinking bout going to TMS this weekend for some Road Racing, just depends on funds I guess. I think the car is capable of some high 1.5 60s, as-it sits, but the power band is so peaky up top, not sure if my little tires will hold it down when boost comes to the party.:o

Thanks anyways for the compliments guys. It isn't too fast, but getting much faster, little by little.:D

Step on up to some 28X12.5 ET streets (same width as a 10" slick) and run 12 psi in them and you will hook.

Part of the reason the car sways on the big end is because of the manual tranny. Try varying tire pressure 2 psi from side to side, sometimes that lessens it a bit.

Hey AL any particular side should be higher pressure? My guess would be driver side more air then pasenger side, would that be the place to start by doing the 2 psi difference?

I tried, I know they are a little lousy, but I wouldn't say suck...:( The first 2 digits will start with 10 next time out...;)

Maybe if I had a lighter car with an Auto and a huge stall, I could be fast like you J.C.!

Thanks, it is a road car afterall... Should clip 135s next time out on full race gas tune. Then it should be about ready for some more boost.;)

Still playing with the launch and shift points. The last run I shortshifted a little which is why I assume the trap in the 1/8th was a little lower? who knows.
