is horrible!!! They told me to bring in my car for a $7000 blower job on Friday and they would have it done in 2-5 days depending on obstacles. I went up there Monday to get a MAF and they said they haven't started, which was cool, since they still had three days. I called up there today (Tuesday) only to fin out they still haven't started it and won't start it until next Monday. What's up with that? I had an appointment and I got screwed!

I had friends tell me not to go to Dallas Mustang because they'll screw you. I told them that DM hasn't done me any wrong yet so I'll just go there, it's so close to my house. Well.....now they have so I say they shoudl work on that.

BTW I know their employees read this, so just to let you know, I'm the guy with the 96 GT (green Boss) that was up there today picking up my car and blower.

Their reply was that the car they were working on spent $25K. Well I spent $7K and as a %age of yearly earnings, that's 50% of mine which is a lot of money!

I dunno....maybe you should wait to badmouth them until after you pick your car up?
I'm sure everything will turn out fine, but it'd be really easy for them to screw something up then not cover it on a warranty...I dunno, just my opinion

7 included install. The parts were about 6 after tax. The actual blower was 4 (w/ aftercooler) (looked around and that is pretty much the same everywhere) Then I got gauges, injectors, throttle body, MAF, sway bar and some other knick knacks. All in all price not too bad, just the service.

my neighbor here in Denton had them put his blower on his 91 GT and they didn't clock it right(put a dent in the hood from hitting it) did not reroute A/C lines right way at all and put the line going to the oil pan right next to the belt and it busted and sprayed everything with oil. He argued with them close to a month maybe about all this stuff, and they FINALLY atleast had the dent taken out of the hood and redid the blower the right way(was only putting out about 3lbs. of boost the first time:confused: Later on he met the guy that put his blower on after the guy had quit and they guy told him that he didn't even know what he was doing lol....Anyways this was only about 6 months ago when all this happen. Needless to say he totaled his car less than two weeks later. But ya they definately have SOME kind of problem there. IMO that is

It's going on, I won't even try to go back and deal with DM again to return the merchandise, they'll charge some 50% restocking fee. I've been told by many people that if I'm nice to the car, it will last a long time. Keep in mind also the car only has 198xx miles on it.

Don't listen to them man... run low boost with a conservative tune and you should be good. I'll be running 8 lbs of boost on a vortech blower once summer hits. With a good tune of seen numerous DOHC motors go strong at 30k+ miles of boost. Start playing with 10+ Psi... and you'll go boom bitch quicklike though.

I like dallas mustang, all it takes is one employee to change everything.

However, they are very understaffed, thats not an excuse, its something they could easily rectify.

Money is money no matter who its coming from, they shouldnt care if you are spending $10 or $10k.

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE HALF TRUTH SHIT TALKING BY
SOME OF THE "NOT SO WELL INFORMED" PEOPLE OF THIS SITE.
LETS START WITH THE BEGINING.

INSTEAD OF CALLING DMP TO FIND OUT ABOUT HIS BLOWER AND IF IT CAME WITH INJECTORS, HE TOOK THE ADVICE OF THESE GREAT PERFORMANCE GODS HE CALLS FRIENDS AND WENT ON A
CRYING SPREE ON THIS SITE GIVEN DMP A BAD RAP AND TALKING ALL THIS SHIT BEFORE HE EVEN FOUND OUT THE TRUTH.

FACT: HIS KIT DID NOT COME WITH INJECTORS AND WOULD HAVE
BEEN TOLD THAT "AGAIN" IF YOU WOULD HAVE JUST CALLED AND
BEEN MATURE ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION.

LETS GO TO THIS BIG INSTALL PROBLEM. HIS STATEMENT ABOUT
NOT WORKING ON HIS CAR BECAUSE HE ONLY SPENT, I MEAN HIS DAD SPENT $7000. WHEN MR. BOSSSHINODA BROUGHT HIS CAR
IN FOR INSTALL HE WAS TOLD THAT WE HAD A CAR THAT WE HAD TO FINISH BEFORE THEY COULD GET STARTED ON HIS. HE SAID THAT WAS COOL JUST GIVE HIM A CALL IF THERE WERE ANY
PROBLEMS. WELL THE SHOP MANAGER MADE THE DECISION TO CALL THE CUSTOMER AND INFORM HIM THAT IT IS TAKING LONGER THAN EXPECTED ON THE OTHER CAR AND THAT HE WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO COME AND GET HIS CAR SO HE COULD HAVE IT TO DRIVE, OR HAVE THE CHANCE TO LET SOMEONE ELSE INSTALL THE KIT.

HOW IN THE WORLD IS THAT BAD SERVICE. IN THE "REAL WORLD"
NOT EVERYTHING WORKS OUT LIKE IT SHOULD. WE COULD NOT
FINISH THE OTHER CAR IN TIME TO GET TO MR. SHINODA SO WE CALLED HIM TO LET HIM KNOW INSTEAD OF GIVING HIM THE RUN
AROUND.

INSTEAD OF BEING APPRECIATIVE ABOUT DMP'S HONESTY TO THERE CUSTOMER HE RAN TO THE COMPUTER ONCE AGAIN LIKE A BABY HAVING A FIT, AND TALKING ALL THIS SHIT ONCE AGAIN.

DALLAS MUSTANG HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR MORE YEARS THAN YOU HAVE BEEN BREATHING, AND THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR SO LONG IF THEY TREATED EVERYONE AS BAD AS
MR SHINODA STATES. IF YOU HAVE MET HECTOR OR MIKE W. YOU WOULD KNOW THEY KNOW THERE SHIT, AND THE 15 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE THAT OUR FORD TECH HAS.

I ALSO DON'T REMEBER MR SHINODA WANTING TO GET OUT OF HIS SUNDAY CLOTHES AND MEMBERS ONLY JACKET TO LEARN HOW TO WORK ON HIS CAR.
IF HE WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO INSTALL PARTS HE WOULD NOT DROP HIS CAR OFF WITH THE INTENT THAT EVERYTHING WOULD
BE PUT ON WHEN HE PICKS IT UP.

P.S PRETTY IMMATURE FOR 17 YRS OLD, LEARN TO LISTEN AND NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSION. JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T GET YOUR WAY DOES NOT MEAN SOMEONE IS TRYING TO "SCREW" YOU.

No big problems with DMP here. Just heard stories of the past. I would love to do that, but since I am paying for all of this stuff, I have to work 5 days a week (both weekend plus three days during the week after school), which leaves me very little time to work on the car, even if I knew how. I didn't feel like any of you guys on here would want to help me, since we haven't known each other that long, and since most people on here are being rude, I really don't want them working on my car. Also that is my daily driver, so when it is being worked on, I'm out of a car and have a hard time finding rides to and from work.

This thread wasn't meant to talk smack. I was venting with all the cussing and things like that. I was just letting everyone on here know how Dallas Mustang treats customers who spend a good chunk of change at their shop. I understand back-ups and getting behind, but the least you could do is call me, or try to arrange some money off or something. I saw no effort on their part. There is no excuse for not making a 5 minute phone call, I'm in retail, so I know what it's like to deal with irrate customers, but at least at my job, we call people and let them know how it's going.

As for DM employees, if you (or appearently your owner) want to talk to me, I'm on your file, so give me a call.

Tom, when filling a trans with fluid there are two service ports that are accessed with a 3/8 drive, maybe some other people that work on their cars can help me out on this one please. The two ports are as follows, one is for draining and the other for filling. The fill port is level with fill line, so when filling you simply pump the fluid until it runs out that port. When filling your trans at DMP, it is done with a 5 gallon bucket and pump. Even if your invoice says that we only put in three quarts, you for sure had the proper amount. Just mark it off as more free stuff that you received from DMP to go along with your 10 free dyno pulls. I wish I could put what I really want to say to you. Its like how much free stuff does someone have to give you for you to be happy?

So the times we get you in the shop immediately for a exhaust leak, not scheduled with a full shop, thats bad customer service? It sounds like bad customer.

Why didn't you just tell me this the first time. Why did you have to tell me to get edcuated about my car? All I did was call and ask about only putting 3 quarts in my transmission. I assume that from your reply you thought that was the right amount and that was what you put in. Why can't you say "I was wrong in the amount of fluid I charged you for. Above is how we handle transmission fluid changes." This is a perfect example of how your customer service could have been better.

If I would not have inquired I would have been left to assume that you guys did not put in the right amount. Which would you have preferred? Me telling everybody that you guys didn't put in the right amount of fluid in my transmission or me calling to find out what the scoop was?

I am very glad to hear about the way you perform transmission fluid changes. I did not want to worry any more about my transmission.

ok maybe customer service was a bad choice of words. How about their shop? None of those stories include trying to get the stuff put on. And I had good luck with gears there, they even fixed it when they recalibrated the speedo wrong. I just don't see why they chose the time I spent 4-5 times the most money I have ever spent to mess up.

BossShinoda I don't know you dude, But I do know the guy at DMP that sold you your system and I will back his credability up all day long. You were told your car wouldn't be started till they finished the other car as your car was nd on the list to be done and that it would take that 2-5 days for install once started. Considering some of the parts werent even in when you started all this crap how do you expect them to stop what they are doing and start yours which they can't finish yet? Anyway, I m not a supporter of DMP just a couple of their employees. I think you misunderstood what was told to you and now your on a rampage from not understanding what you were told.

I know they said they had the other car in there. They told me they would finish that car on Tuesday morning and start mine that afternoon. Come Tuesday afternoon, they hadn't started and they hadn't even called to let me know that they wouldn't until the following Monday. All they had to do was call and let me know. If they had I probably still would have taken it elsewhere just because I ordered it way back on the 8th of February.

I didn't pay $7K for the Vortech, that was only $4. The rest is install and some little knick knacks to help out.

I'm just pissed off right now because my car still isn't blown, when it should have been for a while now.

DMp is 95% a store and 5% a shop. They have roughly 10 employees to take calls and help with customer service.
There is ONE guy in the back to do the installs and work on cars. They try their hardest to treat everyone right and not make any mistakes.
You also have to know most people that know everything in the world about mustangs dont get paid what they should to work at such shops so its hard to find people that know everything that you customers demand. If you dont like the service you are getting then tell the server at the time of your purchase or before...not when you get home and deside that its not good enough.

You also have to understand the mgmt of DMp is not goin to give free anything to any one no matter how much you spend.

They are there to make money and give you what you want.
Nothing else.

I've said it a thousand times....DMP hasnt been the same since Josh Crown left there. He was always friendly and willing to help anyone and the guy knows his shit. He could drop spec's off the top of his head like it was nothing. I will give DMP the benefit of the doubt, they arent a complete waste. Under-staffed? Yes, but the good employees they had went else where cuz DMP is too cheap to pay them. Overpriced? DUH . And anytime you want anything the standard answer is " well, I dont have it in stock, but I can order it" Well fuck I can do that and it will be cheaper direct. DMP is mainly a mail order company, over the phone they dont need to have good customer service, all they want is a phone number and credit card number. No personal or friendly service. DMP is ok, not the best, not the worst but they are definetly the last stop on my list. Just my opinions.

I just heard from Hector (the pres. of MOD, not y'alls) that there was talk about kicking him and some other guys out of your store today when they were only there to hang out, for the simple fact that they were a part of Mustangs Of Dallas. Yes I am a part of that club, but up until this post right here, this thread had nothing to do with MOD. I never mentioned them in any form or fashion. The reason is that the issue was between you and me, no one else. Don't drag them down because you don't like me. Appearently, I'll be returning the injectors after all, y'all called or something, so we can talk later this week or early next week, whenever I have a chance to get up there.

Hmmmmmm........Lets see. DMP is allright as far as the PARTS department. They don't always have everything in stock but they let you know when it will be in. Prices are average compared to other local speed shops in Metroplex. As far as letting them work on anything that I own is a big NO! I might let them install suspension stuff but that is it and it is nothing I couldn't do myself. Honestly I feel as if they have the book knowledge but not the hands on experience. I have seen many cars that have the right parts but not the right install and/or tune come out of their shop. They can't keep employees there for some reason and are always alot of new faces when I make a trip their way. That bright green race-car hasn't made a descent pass yet and that definitely doesn't say much for them. But on the other hand USA has plenty of fast cars but Charlie, his wife, and that asshole brother-in-law are as crooked as they get. Needless to say that used stuff or restoration parts you buy from them are hotter than a $2 pistol. SLIMS doesn't have enough stock to make the long trip(Note: He has an Ex-convict as a machinist). Speedtek has the worst pricing and I can't stand their employees except for Sam(Their N2O refills consist of mostly air). I guess that leaves Lonestar as the only shop with descent pricing and great hands on experience. I have dealt with almost all of them and LoneStar is trusted to work on my car. This is strictly opinion and not trying to influence anybody to take their cars to the shop I like best. Parts wise, they are all about even. If your paying for the install, Lonestar is my choice all the way!

If you really want to fuck with their heads ask all of the different shops this question: "What pills on a dry system makes 150 shot?"
These are the answers I got when asking for a friends car:
Speedtek: 64/37----Wrong
DMP: 61/42----Wrong
USA: 59/42----Wrong
Lonestar: 67/42----Right!
NOS Tech/Info line: 67/42 confirmed.
What a big run-around that was. I guess I should have just called NOS in the first place to save the hassle of dealing with all of the "Disgruntled" employees!
