It was at the fairgrounds out here, I ended up actually doing one pass in a guy`s miata! Very cool! He had an experimental roll hoop (it is a double set, not the huge single bar i see on most miatas). Very fun! God those cars are flickable! I saw Matt(71ChevelleBowtieguypersonman) out there, but he disappeared shortly in the middle of the modified class. I didnt spin out or leave the track, and considering i didnt go through the course layout, i only posted an okay time. Midway through the pack of miatas, at least, but not bad for my first time driving one. The guy was very cool, will look forward to one more car guy in lubbock who isnt an ass in a high school civic. Saw a C5 vette actually doing something other than collecting coats of zaino! An equal number of f-bodies and mustangs, but still vastly outnumbered by miatas, Rx-7`s, and the like. There was only 1 WRX, which i was suprised at. The modified class wasnt nearly as fun to watch as the stock class, however.
Note to others: barrowing helmets blows ass, and im not a fan of open-face helmets either. The track was A) cold and B) had gravel so understeer on cars like mustangs and camaros was pretty bad. You would see someone turn the wheel but keep skidding on the loose gravel. I think they did a poor job on not sweeping off a lot of gravel, but they didnt exactly had a 1st class facility to work with either.
