I'm .1 off of my goal...

I finally ran a 8.8 earlier today at the track. It was against a buddy of mine's Civic, who happened to run a 9.1..

Not bad if I say so myself.

Here's a pic of one of my warm-ups.

I saw a couple of other DFWStangers, but they took off before I had the chance to say whats up.

BTW:

I have a pretty much stock 302

I have the 3.08's, and I hit a 1.8 short time.

My original goal is 8.7 without touching the engine.

I'm .1 off!!! Dammit:mad:

Considering the head wind you were seeing yesterday, you were probably running high 8.6x's.

Good job. Swap those gears to some 3.73's and LAUNCH that thing, you will see 8.5's easy with good driving.

I have found that the best I can get out of my car would probably be an 8.203. I have run an 8.219 and I don't feel like wasting my clutch to get that extra .01 seconds.

Good driving is a given here. I was launching at 4500-4700 RPM.
It was windy as shit out there, and the temperatures dropped quickly after 6 PM. I may gut the interior just to see what times I get out of it, but it's such a PITA, I may not. I may wait untill fall to do that. I want to see what I can do with the interior in the car.

My buddies Civic has a LS / Vtec conversion, and gutted interior. nothing else. No radio, A/C, nothing.

A 1.8 60' with 3.08s. Damn, good driving. My best 60' is 2.05 with the 3.27 gears in my 01 cobra with 275/40 nitto DR.

Thanks. I don't mean to sound arrogant, But driving is one thing I'm good at.

Plus, launching at 4500 on Hoosiers will get you a 1.8 short time.:D

Now, I just have to figure out wether to install BBK Shorties, or MAC Longtubes

I just found out that I have to work weekends now. That means no more Denton for me for about 3-4 months. Damn, that sucks. Oh well, I guess it's more time for me to work on my car.

I saw you out there. I was there Saturday as well. I was in the White T/A. It was my first time to ever run slicks and I nearly took some people out....:D . I wanted to do a couple more runs but my y-pipe came loose from the header on the driver side after only 3 runs, so I was done for the day. Anyway, those are some pretty big slicks you have on there. You ran quicker than me on my first Nitrous/ slicks pass...I nearly stalled it and then I got out of it because I was almost facing the stands. when I finally got going I ran an 8.9 @ 93.8 mph.....:D . I think the next pass would have been really good but the exhaust came apart on that one and I didnt have the tools there to fix it, not to mention the studs and bolts came out as well. :(

8.9 @ 93!!!

In due time I will see the same trap speed. I wonder why you were going sideways on slicks?
