This is my official first post here.

I am just curious but why the fuck do Mustang owners hate LS1s, and why do LS1 owners hate Mustangs??

Personally, I think they are both good cars depending on what is done to them and what you are doing with them.

Just thought I would ask in this forum were honest opinions can be expressed!!!!!:)

I like small block fords, fox bodies, AND LS1's... I hate heavy cars (f-bodies included) and modular engines.

I think the LS1 is the ultimate production pushrod small block... if you came down from another planet and compared it to other engines, you'd swear it was just the next step in the evolution of the small block Ford.

because I wanted a cheap, reliable, easy to maintain, fuel efficient, and smog exempt daily driver with future cheap hop-up potential (I've already converted one vehicle to 2.3 turbo) so that I could have as much time/money as possible to focus on my hot rod.

Well I personally think all cars are great because no matter how shitty, how heavy, and how old or new they are someone has dropped one into at least the 12s... I seen some shitty ass pieces at the track before running 10s even... As well as my uncles friends that have a 78 Chevy Station wagon running 9s with a sbc in San Angelo... Just my 11 cents...

I've seen 'em heavy and I've seen 'em light. With enough power it doesn't matter! Last year at Ennis a Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4x4 ran a 9.80 @ 141. That's a 7-8000lb. suv!!!! I've got an S10 that weighs 2750lbs. and I'd be pissed if I pulled up to that Jeep and got my @$$ kicked. If it's fast, it's cool in my book!!!!




But carbureted small blocks are the shit!

mustang boys hate ls1 boys, because ls1's rock. the stang guys have to drop alot of cash to stay out on ls1s.

ls1 guys hate mustang guys because ls1 guys have to pay 500+ a month plus insurance, so they have to be pissed off at someone. lol

seriously, the ford vs. chevy vs. mopar vs. the world thing has been going on since .......

its just that mustangs and camaros are the most popular so those are the most visible ones to talk trash about.

Good point,But I have a ford that dropped in to the 12,s very cheap,which means ls1,s will have to spend money to beat it!:D

Well I agree, I like to talk trash with the LS1 guys cause I am a Ford owner.

I am helping a buddy drop a 350 in a '73 280Z that was a rust bucket. We repaired the rusty floor pans and will be putting a mildly warmed over 350 between the fenders. I have told him about ya'lls Kennedale events (we are Tarrant Co guys) and when we get it running in a month or two watch out for the 73 350Z! That goes for us Ford owners and you GM guys.

It should be a blast if we can keep it going straight on the 1/8 and 1/4.
