Buddy of mine was going to setup a BIOS Password on a used HP Laptop he bought and found out that it's already got one. Any idea's on how to reset it so that it doesn't have one? I know on a Desktop that you'd just pull out the MB Battery but I have no clue what to do with a Laptop.

I used to have a bios password hack... might try searching for one of those...that would be the easiest :D

Yeah, there's a program ... holdup, I may still have it on disk...
Yeah, here they are. http://www.wiccajesus.com/Files/cmos_rtc.zip
Contains two files: clrcmos.exe and killrtc.exe. Try clrcmos first, that should dump all the cmos settings, and go back to factory defaults. If that doesn't work, killrtc might, but I think it's more for the real time clock. Dunno, haven't had to use either of these in years, but I used to have to use 'em on customer computers in lieu of a jumper.

Thanks a lot Jay for the link. I'll let you know how it goes probably this weekend when I get a chance to try it out on my friends laptop.
