How do you check where a person has been surfing the internet in XP??? The only users are my fiancee and I with the unwanted inclusion of my sister. So I want to know where she is looking at and for how long without having to buy some type of logging software. Thanks!

look at the internet history in IE, hit ctrl h with IE open.

browse to this path,

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\History\History.IE5

with username being your sisters log in name,

be sure to enable viewing hidden folders, tools / folder options, the second tab (forget the name) then in the box on the bottom check the radial for show hidden files.

If you do not use login names, then do as abecx has said above.

thanks
trey

What's up? Is she going somewhere she shouldn't or shouldn't be using the computer at all?

Unfortunately, if you're wanting to know how long she's at the sites, you'll have to get monitoring software. IE's history doesn't keep track of that, just what url's passed through the address bar ... which could be for a split second on a redirect, or could be hours browsing a lengthy site.

A little of both but what really pissed us off is her using our printer and I'm not talking a few pages either. I was gonna set the available hrs for the printer to kinda let her know or just put a password on the only account on the machine. The guest account is disabled but we knew that she would immediately narc us out for being "mean" and that would cause more problems than it would solve in our case. Damned if you do, damned if you don't....
