Not bad considering 400 bucks total for a console/computer.
I have a feeling this is could REALLY have an impact on the gaming market. It opens up a whole new market of consumers for PC game makers who have, until now, been unable to reach people who didn't have computers. The caveat however is that they will have to make Linux versions of their games :D That would be fucking sweet for the Linux community in general and is going to piss Microsoft off something grand. Depending on the popularity of the Linux for PS2 I can almost guarantee a release of Windows on the Xbox.

XBox is running a version of Windows 5.x, which is a hybrid 2000/XP OS with optimized DirectX and no GUI. Wouldn't take much to add the GUI wrapper.

Sega Dreamcast runs Windows CE with their own SDK.

This Linux/PS2 release is going to be huge to the gaming community, since with the $200 upgrade, you get full use of the PS2 SDK along with documentation on their Emotion Engine. Something that costs mega bucks in their current Developer SDK.

Very cool, very cool indeed.
