What is preferred method of backing up 1GB+ data?

What is the best way to do backup 1 to 5 GB worth of data on a daily basis? Its been a while since I checked on this and DAT's were previously the only way to do this economically. I can't just back up to another HDD since copies need to be taken off site.

Ideas?

DVD Burner w/ DVDR support or a spare hard drive.

DVD if you can afford it, spare hard drive if not ( poor mans backup, doubtful both drives will crash, I put abecx.net backups on my mainbox.

Besides what AbecX mentioned, only other thing I can think of would be tapes. If it needs to go offsite, an external HDD might work as well.
