I'm looking for a way to catalog all the MP3's I have other than using Excel or something. Something like the DVD Profiler Program would be cool if it could scan the HD or Folders and export to a file or something. Any ideas?

There's a Media Library Export to Excel plug-in you can get for Windows Media Player. I dunno if there's any for WinAmp, or other players, and dunno if there's anything that exports to a file/format other than Excel.
I'm pretty jazzed about Media Player 9. I'd sworn off of Media Player for anything beyond videos, since 7 came out. WinAmp all the way for all my music. But now I've got WinAmp 3, and I've been pretty dissapointed with it ... just upgraded to MP 9 to see if it could fix a problem with some videos, and started messing around with it. It's definitely faster than WinAmp 3, and doesn't have a problem opening or closing. Opens faster, closes faster. Whatever they did, they definitely improved Media Player.
Of course ... now they need to update their Media Player Bonus Pack for XP. I downloaded that to check some of the plug-ins out (like the Excel export) and some of them give an error: "This feature is only for Windows Media Player for Windows XP" ... which would be MP 8 that came with XP.

Thanks Jay, I'll have to look into it tomorrow before spending the time on the download.

If you run a webserver internal as I do, its REALLY easy to do with this php script called andromedia. It not only lets you search, but it streams them directly from the website.
It'll run kind of slow because its on my cable modem, but you can check it out here. It runs very bad ass on internal network. My dad has almost 100GB of mp3's and he uses it, my and my brother have about 70gb I think, I lost count, but we use this as well, the search option comes in handy, but we really need to go through and resort some stuff.

I did a quick search and couldn't find the plug in for the Media Library Export. If you can, please provide a link. I'm going to look again and see what I can find.

I'm not that fancy yet but thanks for the info. Might try that later once I get a network going.

Jose, have I've told you lately how much I love the Mavericks lately? And how I love a cigar and scotch after dinner? :D

Whoa. The other day, it was easy to find ... today ... man they know how to bury shit. Here's the link:
Windows Media Bonus Pack for Windows XP (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/bonuspack.aspx)
well ... shit. I was just looking over it, it only works for files with a .asx extension  Guess that won't really work too well.
I'll keep looking around and see what I can find.

AbecX, that's a pretty cool script. I might have to look into that when I get around to setting up my crash box.
