I need some LAN analyzer software to capture a recurring broadcast that is going on in our network, but our cheap ass President doesn't want to pay for it (he just expects us to be able to find the problem  ).

Does anyone have a copy of some good software or have a good lead on a free version?

I downloaded a couple (LANSleuth & Distinct Network Monitor), but they only allow me to capture 25 packets at a time, which does me no good.

Thanks.

You guys dont have a linux box somewhere on that network do you :D

Cheops - Network User Interface (http://www.marko.net/cheops/)
TCPDump - Very useful (http://www.tcpdump.org/)
Nagios - Formerly netsaint (http://www.nagios.org/)

Ethereal is a free network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows. It allows you to examine data from a live network or from a capture file on disk. You can interactively browse the capture data, viewing summary and detail information for each packet. Ethereal has several powerful features, including a rich display filter language and the ability to view the reconstructed stream of a TCP session.
