If you're in console mode, yes, it looks kinda like DOS. But if you're in a windowing system, like X, it looks pretty much like any Windows machine by default ... but there are plenty of window managers out there (like Enlightenment) that make the "Windows" look either less obvious, or non-existant.

Yeah...right now I am starting out by running Lindows 3.0.5. thought it would be helpful to get used to the differences with some familiar first. All i know is webpages are loading smoking fast and it has a really neat feel to it........Any possible way of me running enlightenment on lindows?..might be a dumb question but I am just now starting out on Linux!:D

Right on, I used to have a friend that lived up in Sherman, that I'd visit every now and then. Don't think I've ever stopped in Van Alstyne before though :)

Yeah, that sucks. I visit my aunt & uncle out in Heath, and the closest Best Buy, or ... well, anything, is in Mesquite. 20 minutes down I30 or 80. Sucks :(

Yes lindows is like any other linux OS, you can get the same shit to run on it as you could redhat.
Maddhatter, here is a screenshot I did a while back to prove to Tiny Tim that sites load up just fine in my mozilla based linux browser.
