View Full Version : What dressing or oil do you put on your salad?

I've been checking out the fat free dressing and that stuff still has 400+ mg of sodium in them. If I've read right, sodium isn't that great for you in high amounts. So what are you guys/gals using for your salads to make it not taste so bland? Or am I being too picky here and sodium isn't really that bad? Just wondering because every little bit counts!

I usually just use a little bit of fat free ranch and loads of toppings (healthy stuff like carrots, mushrooms, etc..).

I love salads...as long as I can't taste the salad itself, lol..

As long as you've got enough toppings to cover up that nasty salad taste, you're good to go;)

I especially hate the white pieces of lettuce that are crunchy...uggh

I just use regular dressing.

However I put it on the side and dip my salad into it. You eat alot less that way and you still get the flavor.

I usually don't use a dressing, but use plenty of Lemon Juice....

Give it a shot, it's pretty nice on a salad, especially with some purple onions. About 5 wedges of lemon, and I'm set.

I dip my fork in the dressing bowl first, then pick up the salad. Same concept in reverse.

I do the same thing, dip the fork in first then go for the salad... usually do a light pepercorn ranch of Fat-Free Ranch

my fave is ranch dressing on salads ( 1 to 2 tablespoons) and the same on backed potato with 1 teaspoon butter , 1 teaspoon cheese whiz

Imust admit....I am not that strick on myself when it comes to dressings. I typically use Italian in moderation when I make the salad myself.
