Need advice on dent removal

I was driving back from San Antonio yesterday and we stopped at Waco for a bite to eat and visit a friend. When I puuled into the resturant I parked way out of the way, like I always do, and my friend parked one space away due to everyone getting out of the car (dorr in other space). Still We were parked on the other side of the door with not a single car around us, and hardly anyone in the joint. So during our hour stop I noticed only one group enter and leave, but when we got out to my car I noticed it, a door ding (still with the white paint on it). That group parked between us and must have opened their doors as wide as they go. My friend called me earlier today and told me he had a similar ding on his door. I'm so cautious with my car, but I swear some people should be shot!

I think I'll carry a few of those orange cones with me in my trunk from now on and when ever I park I'll make sure to cone off the surrounding parking spots.

Fuggin idiots....don't feel bad, I was at a show out in Cali this weekend and actually saw some guy pull into a space at a cruise night, open his door and ding the 'vette next to him.......unbelieveable.

BTW, I drove a VERY nice '68 GT500KR on Saturday, 88K original miles, second owner, well optioned, 4 speed with 4:11's - wooooohoooo.....

Yes I am, but the drive out there is a bit much, especially when I have to inconvience another to pick me up after dropping the car off. But seriously I was mainly looking for suggestions or experiences in price for dent removal (ie door ding). GE do you have an idea how much it would cost to repair one on the upper part of the passenger door (upper part parrellel with the handle)?

It really depends. Hard to say without seeing it. Depends if they'll need to R&I the door assembly, if they need to blend into the adjacent panel, etc. Minor stuff where no repairs are needed, i.e. sand it down, build the surface back up and paint it will run you no less than $225.

Dent Stop in Irving is wonderful if you don't need paint. They have to be the nicest guys I've ever delt with. I got three dents during the engine overhaul. You'd never know after dropping a 50 to them. One was from the alternator falling on the top of the fender. ugh.

They've removed every ding I've ever had for next to nothing. Good luck!

A friend of mine had a paintless dent repair company remove a dent that was in front of the rear tire. They drilled two big (1/2"+) holes in the fenderwell and did not plug them. I would remove interior panels behind the dent and tell them that you do not authorize any holes to be drilled, unless you like that kind of thing.
