My paint looks pretty good for a 7 year old, and I will eventually get it repainted, but for now I want to get the paint looking as good as possible. Is Zaino the solution? I have thought about having it buffed at a paint shop, any suggestions?

You can get some buffing compound and restore the luster yourself!!! Its cheap and it works!

Zaino... My friend has a black 89 with original paint when we bought the car the paint almost looked blueish but now it looks damn good after a few hours with ZAINO!

Zaino...it supposedly works wonders...if not,try McGuiars...i've personally see it bring life back to a paint job before. It's also more on the affordable side of the wax family. http://64.81.114.233/ubb/smile.gif

I dunno..... I did see this Turtle Wax stuff that comes in all the basic car colors, you can fill in the scratches and everything, then buff 'em out. But it was advertised on TV, so I am skared of it....

when i first bought mustang, the red paint looked really horrible, it had no shine to it at all. That day I used the compund and it was pretty much just like regular wax, I just put a little on a section, let it dry for a few minutes, and scrubbed it off with a towel. After I did that to the whole car (a LOT of hard scrubbing) i waxed it all and i was so amazed, the paint looked almost new.

Use a wire brush on it with some fast orange. That will make it look nice http://64.81.114.233/ubb/biggrin.gif

One word - ZAINO.
Call Steve and tell him what you have and he'll tell you exactly what you need...
Start off washing it with Dawn dish detergent. That will strip it of all it's old wax and all the other junk on top. Then apply the many different layers of Zaino and within an afternoon, you'll have a new looking car. I promise...

I'd say try the Zaino first. If it doesn;t give you what you want you can just strip it off with a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol and then go to a more agressive compound, probbaly best done by a pro with a buffing wheel.
I'm sure that will set it right, then you can go back to Zaino. Remember, one bottle will give you five to six applications so you won;t really be out anything if it doesn't work the first time.

I have black paint that looks great. I used 3M Swirl Remover and then I used 3M Hand Glaze. It worked wonders with my car. I have never heard anything good about wax that comes in colors. I would definately do the 3M and then go with a wax of your choice.

Gear Jammer and Waife are both right. You my need to prep the surface via polishing. But, when it's where you want ti, time to Zaino. Take Gear Jammers advice, check with Steve pasztor (local zaino rep) for advice.

How do you get a hold of Steve?
Zaino.....This stuff makes old paint look like new, Chris on your car this will make your car look like new, your paint is in nice shape for its age and the Zaino will help it alot.
How long will it last, is my question? Does it wash off during normal cleaning, does it dull in the sun, etc... any help would be appreciated!
