Mesquite/Garland GTG 1/11/2003

First off, this is going to be more of a GTG style event. We do not condone any racing at this event and would like to keep the place clean, so please keep that in mind. I am going to try and find a more suitable location for us soon so we can make this event a weekly one. I am open to ideas of locations for places that will not mind a large group of mustangs ( probably 30+ ) each weekend, a restaurant/fast food facility would probably be more appropriate for us as I like to eat sometimes :p

And if it IS a street race spot, ya'll please read (or REread) DFWStangs' rules on street race discussions/planning. Remember, anything FOR that kind of action should be done via PM"s.

Wed meeting is at Sali's (spelling?) Beltline and Garland Rd buy nickelroma and a movie theater. Check the Wed Garland GTG post. Greg

The GTG last week was cool and we had a big turnout. But there does not need to be any street racing or peeling out of the parking lot this time. The two cops that came out were very cool and know we will be there this Saturday.

Let's not blow this - it's a great spot. We do need for everyone to clean up their trash they leave in the parking lot. Last week AbecX, Doc and I had the lovely duty of doing just that but it would be easier if everyone would dump their own.

Maybe since we will have the rug rats out there with us this time, we can give them clean-up duty.

This is a fairly new spot and we've only met once so not too much to tell yet except it was a good turnout last Saturday. The location is in the parking lot by Denny's Rest. on the northeast corner of I30 and Broadway/Beltline in garland. Folks start arriving around 8:00-9:00. We had some cool older model stangs out last week and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again Saturday.

I never once said i was "fast" DAMNNN :rolleyes: I just happened to be with some friends and found a totally bone stock ls1 and we raced, i was totally shocked and since then i have raced many "stock" ls1's as well since then.....borla exhaust and a lid for one and i get my ass handed to me on a silver plate and the others ripped my ass as well, that just happened to be a slow one i guess.....i think i have learned my lesson so for now on i hope i am the slowest!! :D I admit i guess i did make it sound like i was "fast" but that is coming from someone that has always had slow stangs and i know my coupe isnt too bad for what she has....!! 89BlueCoupe, my Expy may've been blocking some of the 'stangs at that time. By 9:30 there was a really good turnout. :) It was too cold to meet new people though. I kinda just shivered in one spot most of the night. :p That Denny's had some BAD ASS food though. I was impressed.
