I know alot of people use Armor All or a similar product, the only problem is that the oily residue left behind collects dust and lint like no other ( especially on a vert ). Does anyone else use something that works better?

Aromor All and Son of a Gun are the best for protecting your int., especially in a vert., but you can always use something like 409. It shouldn't leave the oily $#!+ as much. About the dust and lint, you produce static electricity when you wipe your interior down, the collection of dust will happen. Just touch up with a swiffer rag after detailing.

I bought some kind of dust sponge at AutoZone That works great. You just run it over the dash and it picks up the dust.

I will see what it is called when I get home from work

Thanks Allan. I like the way Armor All looks on the dash, just hate having that dust collect on there. About a month ago my dash looked yellow from all the pollen in the air, I had to clean it twice or three times a week.

BTW, those swffer rags act like a dust magnet. you can store a box of them in your glove compartment.

I use Simple Green for most of the interior cleaning duties. The verts get pretty nasty after having the top down for quite some time.

Hey thanks Allan, I'll pass by the local Auto Zone and pick it up. I used to use Simple Green, but I felt that it made the dash dry up... don't want it cracking in the Texas heat.

I use Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner for seats. It's good b/c it's a 2 in 1 deal. Check out their site for some good products. www.meguiars.com (http://www.meguiars.com)

I agree, GE, good stuff for leather. For the plastic and vinyl pieces I find Meguires Natural Shine works best for me. You can certainly use a more agressive cleaning agent like a 409 or Simple Green with no problems Kenny_Stang as long as you protect the plastic after with a dressing.

One of the things I like best about Natural Shine is that it is not as oily as Armor All and Son of a Gun and, hence, dust doesn't seem to adhere as much to it. You get a nice natural shine that won't burn your retinas if the sun happens to reflect back at you off the dash when driving. It also has nice UV protection properties for you rag top folks.

Thanks Tang, I need to restock some of my car cleaning supplies, I'll probably be stopping by the AutoZone today after work.

w/c, 'bro. Glad I could help.

BTW, if Auto Zone doesn't have what you need, stop by - I've probably got at least one bottle of every car care product you could think of in the garage http://64.81.114.233/ubb/smile.gif. Always trying out new stuff!

I go with Armor All CLEANER first, it's in a similar bottle to Armor All, except sorta baby blue trim, and that gets the plastic clean! Use a good clean old tshirt or something till no dirt comes off. Only then are you ready for Armor All or other such 'protectant'. Doing this leaves it shiny, but not gunky.
