not to bag on you at all, but all of yalls races seem to be aimed at streetcars lately. are yall gonna do any index racing this year. or anymore brackets that are not street car brackets. i know that the street car cliche is your bread and butter, but some of the rules are crazy.
/end of rant.

They said something about index races in their forum. They still have their old voy forum. That is where I read it. That would be nice if they would have some foot brake index racing. I miss that part of the Denton track.

I would like to make a suggestion that some may not like but here goes.
As for Night racing, it might be a good idea to shut down at 10pm instead of midnight. The track just gets too cold and it is obvious from last night that the track began to get dangerous after that Trans Am spun at half track.
I would think it might be good idea to run the Saturday/Sunday races during the day to take advantage of a warmer track. Had there been anyone last night running with some serious power, I think they would have been in some big time trouble at the 330' mark.
also, when the weather is cold, those of us on slicks and DR's need to really heat the tires. This requires longer burnouts. Can you please ask the track marshalls not to gripe at us for that? We are not showing off, we are just trying to get the most out of our car.
You guys did make a great effort to make the track sticky last night but some reason that right lane was just slick as all hell. Maybe it was the coolant dropped from that Chevy PU.
done ranting.

Well, as you know we will try harder than anybody to make the track as sticky as possible.
Aggie you are right, the track was never the same the antifreeze hit the track. It was just too cold to get the stuff cleaned up and make the track as good as it should have been. As for burnouts, we have to be careful right now because the area we use for the burnouts will be the 500' mark very shortly. When cars get their tires hot, they also get the concrete hot and it pops and gets bumpy. Once we get the rest of the track in, which shouldn't be long, long, smoky, burnouts will be back in full force.
Dragradiastang, what rules are you referring to? Safety or class rules? If it is the class rules, you guys feel free to post up your suggestions and let me know what you would like to see for some street car classes.
If you are referring to the Domestic Dominator and Quick 8 races, WHICH HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR 1/18/03, I have taken it off the board, so post up and give me your thoughts. You guys know alot more about each other like than I do.
This time of the year lends itself to street car races more than anything else because of the cold weather. Like last night, we had quite a few racers, but what I would only call 3 real racecars. We will be doing more races with full racecars when the weather warms up. When we put up the big bucks, we want it to be warm enough for people to come watch.

I think the guys working the track did a great job of keeping it as sticky as possible. It seems the right lane never hooks up as well as the left. I know from personal experience after completely loosing it in the right lane after hitting the NO2. I took out the finish line timer a few weeks ago. But, the left lane hooked up pretty well last night. It did take a longer burnout though. I went all motor all night, not having the nuts to hit the button. A cold track is just the price we pay for getting to have year-round racing. There aren't many places in the country where we can do it and there aren't many tracks that will stay open for us who can't stand the thought of not racing at least once a week!

as stated before, not baggin on yall, i just remember the days of bracket racing and being to win more then a gift certificate. you guys do and awsome job at trying to keep the track sticky and dry. i know you have been considering daytime racing in the winter wich i think would be great. when does bracket season start back up?
as far as sugestions for classes, i think a small, medium, and large tire slick class would be good. like 8.5-10, 10.5, and bigger. no E for the small tire class, two step for 10.5 and full electronics for big tire.

Is the track going to run the other direction? Or just get lengthened. I see your point about the burnouts and thanks for the explanation.
cele3, if that car is running like it was last night on motor only, I would love to see that thing on full tilt with the NO2!!!! Nice car and great runs.

Matt:
I'm thinking of going to Redline tomorrow so that I can run in the sun. Hopefully, I'll be able to run a small shot of NO2 and, if I get the cajones, put in some bigger pills. Running on E/T streets makes it a bit squirrely, though.
Thanks for the compliments. I'd like to meet you sometime.
Rob.

They are going to make the track extend toward the I-35 service road and move the tower and starting line back toward I-35.
The track itself will physically be 1/4 mile but the actual race track will remain 1/8. The extra 1/8 mile will allow for more shutdown area.

ok cool. i was thinking it would be a 1/4 mile. but lenthening it for more shutdown area is a great idea. will allow some of the big tire cars to run safely. good idea.
