View Full Version : How about this
3x10-bench
3x10-wide grip bench
3x10-close grip bench
3x10-incline
3x10-brain crushers
3x10-kick backs
You think this would be good?

That sucks. Too much chest. Are you trying to just kill yourself.

That depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to build mass and strength, use a heavy weight with those sets with a straight bar. If you are trying to tone up, use a lighter weight dumbbells, and don't hit the chest so much. Focus on hitting some of the intermediate muscles instead.

ya, I think that is a little overkill on chest. All that is necesary for chest is 3 good sets of 8-10 on Bench, 3 sets of low incline, I mean like really low. The problem with most incline benches is that they are to high, and work more shoulders that chest. The best thing you can do for incline is stack three plates on the ground and put the end of the bench on that, perfect incline. I then finsih up with 3 sets of peck fly super set'd with push ups. killer if done right. If you do that right you will build good size in the chest, and save your shoulder workout for another day. Something else I also like to do is get your incline up as much as your bench, and your uper chest will fill in alot better. I know lots of people have a problem with upper.

This is what my chest work out looks like:
Exercise 1 2 3 4
DB Bench 10x65 8x70 6x75 4x80
DB Incline 10x50 8x55 6x60 4x65
DB Flys 10x30 8x35 6x40 5x45
I also do Shoulders and Tris the same day as chest. I like 4 sets instead of 3. Its harder, but the first set is more of a warm-up set than anything else.
However, I have noticed less ability to fully finish my chests. But I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I have no idea what my DB #s equate to. I rarely ever have a partner to work out with so I use Dumbbells for saftey reasons plus I like the fact that it allows each muscle to work independently instead of relying on the other side for some help.
