I used to use newsgroups, but it's been a while since I've been on them. Most of the stuff I used to download from Newsgroups, was just easier to download off of Kazaa ( movies, shows, etc. )

why? because of broken threads? movies are better w/ newsgroups, shows probably w/ kazaa. my d/l rate w/ newsgroups is almost 200/k a second.

I use a number of difference sources for my needs. Newsgroups is one of them and Kazaa along with underground hacker websites. I also receive a couple of newsletters that has good hacker information in them.

With a good news reader program, there isn't much that you CAN'T find in usenet...

true dat, i subscribe to a newsgroup service. newsfeeds.com. 95+% file completion and very very fast. I get everything off of there. I want to get a DVD burner so I can start d/l dvd movies.

Why do you pay for newsgroups when there are 100,000+ out there that are free begin with?

I just found that Kazaa was much easier to work with than having to search through newsgroups for movies. Just my opinion.

Haven't used them in quite some time mostly because I have a dial up (very slow) connection now. Does the programs used for putting together the threads in news groups allow for continuing from a dropped connection like Kazaa and other programs do?

I am not paying for the newsgroups, I am paying for the server because there are hardly any incomplete threads and they save messages for over 1 month 1/2.

Can you recommend a good newsgroup program for putting together multiple threads? Also, post up some good News Servers so I can see what's out there now.

I always use Forte Agent. I know there are some better one's out there but Agent is probably the easiest to use. The only bad thing about Agent is, is that it doesn't support multiple servers (you have to make a different shortcut and config for each server) and you cannot simultaneous download.

www.newsfeeds.com is the server that I use, and it has worked great.
