OK stereo guys, I've got a 2001 GMC regular cab truck. I'm wanting more sound but I want to keep the factory stereo/CD. I had in mind to buy some 6" separates for the door and some 4x6 for behind the seats. I was gonna try and fit a box with a single 8" sub behind the seats and power it with a 200 watt 4 channel amp. Two channels bridged for the sub and two for the doors. I would power the 4x6s with the factory radio with some bass blockers on'em.

I don't want any stratospherically good speakers but some decent seperates in the doors would be really sweet I think.

Anyone make a box for a regular cab pickup? And how hard is it to tap into the factory radio speaker outputs. Would I need line level converters or is there a separate amp to the GM stereos?

Any ideas what I'm looking at as far as cost?

Thanks!

Your system sounds very solid. Most amps theese days have high level inputs so you should not need a seperate low level line converter.
Just about any good car audio shop should be able to make you a custom subwoofer enclosure.
I work at a very good one. PM me if you need the addy or number.
