here is what it said.
Networking Capability
In order to install AT&T Broadband Internet, your PC must have a network card (used to connect the PC to the cable modem), or it must be 10 BASE T Ethernet-compatible.
If we need to install a network card, you must have at least one free compatible IRQ and a free expansion slot. For Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP a free USB port may be used in certain situations.

here are my options

I've got a couple spare, I'll trade you a network card for that transmission mount :)

Any NIC will do. I normally buy the $15 Compusa brand nic from CompUSA. I've got a dozen different nics, but i would be easier to go buy one that get it from me. Sometimes you can get them on sale for $9 or less.

I'll tell michael to stop by my house and pick it up on his next trip through here.

Fry's or Altex has hundreds brand new for $9, that's all you'll need.

3COM, Linksys, 10/100 TX for $10 ea

Hell, I was giving them away withthe cable modems I was selling. BTW, have several of those available. Toshiba PCX1100U and the Ambit 60194E your pick. Both models will take USB (although your performance will be better using the NIC) and are 10/100 TX

asking $40 ea on the modems
