James....what kinda box?

Hey James.....what kind of box would you recommend for 2 12's in my 2000 extended cab GMC. I had 2 tens in those downfiring sealed boxes, but I want to move up to 12's and install a new capacitor (the box looking one thats rated at 5 farad?). I am looking for good soundquality mostly....with a nice highend sub....which I haven't decided on yet. I know ya need to know that for the box, but would you go with a ported, or is there not enough room? Basicly, what have you done in a truck like mine that sounded really good.....I am pushing both subs with a JBL 1200.1 amp.

You really do not have room for 2-12's ported.
You have quite a bit of power, have you considered the Solobarics? We are building a ported box for 2-10's in a truck like yours, I will let you know how it comes out. Should make HUGE bass.
Where are you getting your AlumaPro 5 farad cap from? If you have not paid for it yet, a friend of one of our techs has a 15 farad for sale. I will find out how much if you are interrested (should be cheap).
And finally, the old rule of thumb is: sealed for sound quality and ported for more bass but some sacrifice in sound quality.

Check on the cap for sure. I really don't know what subs I want.....so do you think there is not enough room for 2 sealed 12's? It hit pretty damn hard when I had the 2 10's in it, but I was just looking for alittle more punch to go with the good highend http://64.81.114.233/ubb/smile.gif

I don't think you have the room for 2-12's.

I have called the tech who knows about it and he still has not called me back. I have been off work for a few days, I am going in tomorrow though. I will try to get the price 2morrow. Sorry it is taking so long.

Chris I have not been able to get a price on the used 15 farad cap but ck your pm's for some prices on new 5 and 15 farads.
