Will what are you wanting to do? Do you want Intel or AMD?
Get yourself a AMD Athlon XP-2700 with a 333mhz FSB.
MSI KT3 Ultra 2 with 333mhz DDR ram support.
1gb of PC-2700 DDR Ram. Crucial, Micron any of the name brands will be fine.
Any video card with the Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti-4600 chipset on it with DV out and TV out. This card hauls ass and is super compatible with all the titles out there and all the hardware. It has a 300MHZ core clock and 600 mhz memory clock.

I have to object. It only scored a 3d Mark score of 10,000
The ATI Radion 9700Pro scored a 14,000
It kicks the shit out of the GF4

LOL! I wouldnt recommend overclocking unless you want to have stability issues down the road. I personally donot like ATI, there drivers are buggy and have problems with certain games, i hated dealing with ATI's buggy reference drivers and beta's. They have a lot of muscle but still there are issues with certain games running properly on that card. ATI makes a great buisness card for graphics and pictures and also movie editing.

Heh, Yeah. I don't have to worry about breaking it thanks to a great store called CompUSA.
That's why I'm Getting the 9700 so cheap.

I agree completely. With a 1800+ athlon and 7500 Radeon 64MB(el cheapo!), counterstrike is very fun!

It might be just me ,but everytime ATI has something new coming out it is hyped up and ends up being a P.O.S.
I remember when radeon's first came out... Most of my friends picked them up.. then ended up returning them for whichever Nvidia chipset was out then.
Only card I really ever liked was the all-in-wonder, but we know thats not a good gaming card so I never picked one up for myself.

Exactly my point earlier, ATI hypes up thier video cards and then their drivers are junk and not compatible with certain games or downright run in software mode:rolleyes: Stick with Nvidia and life will be good:D

I agree, I've bought one nvidia card, saw its quality, and have since bought 4 more, each one being much better then its previous version, and also a lot cheaper then the top end cards on the market.

Thats what i love about Nvidia, they are constantly improving upon thier products and drivers, that is why they are #1 in the gaming market.
