bsharer,
There is a guy I have been emailing back and forth(2 actually) both cars run 347 n/a and both run lo 10's@130+.
One car is efi with tw heads, big hydro roller, makes 475rwhp and has a race weight of 3050lbs(93 Cobra).
The other car is a 79 mustang 347, Canfields, carb, auto w c4 and runs 10.20's@131 n/a. i think he makes around 430rwhp or so.
I am not sure what this is 1/8 time.
So yea to answer your question it is very posible when people build a combination right, good heads, intake cam,cr etc.
What kind of heads was he running?

Did he also try to convince you that baldness can be cure by excessive reproduction?? Something along the lines of 37 kids and one yellow car?

I think that he had an under the manifold system on it, and the bottle was under the dash where the heater box used to be. Thats the only way it would run that!

Edit: But it didn't have a Tach on the first two runs.

I ran 6.8 @ 98mph with a stock Ls1 block (346 ci ;), heads and a cam.(3475#'s) Why couldn't a light weight mustang go faster :(
Ya'll are just too hung up on power adder cars to realize what a motor car can do!

No you didn't everyone say's its not possible. ;) LOL!
I would say it is possible but you need plenty of compression, some RPM, and a fat ass cam.
You would be suprised what an extra 1000 RPM will do for you as far as power goes.
My next engine will definitely be zero balanced and spun to 8000 RPM.

Bitch, my rev limit is at 8800!!! Bring the pain!

Welp, call me in 2014 when it is done and I will put my whole social security check on the race....

To answer the question, James's, from Speedworks, Coupe has a 347 in it and it makes mad power...
I think he said it made 463 RW or something. Was running mid 20s at FFW... I think it could deffinitely run some mid-high 6s in the eigth.

James makes a few more ponies now, he didnt run the best times at FFW, i know he expected more but oh well, im pretty sure he's making just as close to 500 rwhp as u can without actually hitting the mark, im not too sure about the 6.7 thing becuase im not that up on what eighth mile times equal in the quarter but from my knowledge i have always thought that a dedicated racecar with 500 rwhp will have no problem going into the 10's in quarter

Yea he mentioned in Quals he ran a 11.8@12X and in eliminations, he hooked hard and ran a 11.1 @ 110 or something rediculous... I think his car can run some mid 10s when it is cold enough... It was hot as hell that Sunday at FFW when he was running those 11s...;)

He has dynoed as much as 470rwhp on motor with 104 sunoco. I think on pump gas with a little less timing he did 44x's.
His setup. Stock block, Eagle internals, Canfield heads, solid roller, Victor Jr intake, Huge carb, 1 3/4 LT's, 3" DrGas, 3" 1 chambers.
Keep in mind that he runs a stock T-5 with a motorsport heavy duty clutch. No Bullshit either. Of course it has a built rear end and all kinda suspension crap. His best eigth-mile was 6.92@100.
Put in a C-4 and there ya have it.
