Lots of people out there! Great weather for racing. It was an LS1 invasion last night! Lots of slow (high 8s low 9s) ones and some fast ones (couple running low 7s and a few more running 7.80s). I saw one 87-89 strawberry red Mustang hatch that I hadn't seen before. Reasonably quiet, automatic, 10 holes with slicks running 6.70s! :eek: Anyone from here?
My clutch kept getting worse and worse. First pass was an 8.08 at 93.77, then a 8.45 @ 84 and a final 8.32 at 93. It would launch reasonably well (2.03 twice) and spin a little in 1st, when I grab 2nd it would spin at the torque peak pretty bad and then I'd grab 3rd and the clutch would let go at the torque peak. On the second pass I could feel it chattering. :eek: Fortunately, Lane got there after I had decided that the clutch had had enough (read I can still drive it home) because he was running 7.5s right at 90. I bet he got a 7.4 before the night was over. I left around 11:00 or so.

Al P drove his car out. I saw him run a low 7 at 102.5 getting in and out of the throttle like you would do if you were fucking with a ricer on the highway. He was trying to tune the SpeedPro and just takin' it easy. That thing is going to be insanely fast when it's worked out.

No, morey went to Redline I think.
I did race AL P though - and WON!! :D Of course, he was just tuning and blew by me just past the line, but I got the green! All that pants sh*tting fear scared my car into a new best too. :)

I ran a couple of other 7.5's, but on stock tuning, torque management is killing me. Getting it removed next week. If you saw any of my runs, it was the fart sound my car makes in between shifts... :( Sounds like the rev-limiter, but it's -10* timing... Without that, low 7.4's would have been mine, maybe 7.3's! :) We'll see. I LOVE THIS COOLER WEATHER!

I saw you launch on out there and I said "now damn it, you know I won't hear the end of this if I get beat"...so I layed into it and tried to make it up but didn't quite catch you.
You got me by .042!! I was coming though, mph was 102.1 mph to 90 mph.
It was nice to finally meet you Lane, that car of yours runs hard.

man, watching all of you guys run last night makes me want to get that damn SVO going... :( :( :( :(
I was there, made 5 passes, but only got 3 times slips, props to the staff at Denton

I was very disipointed in the staff at the track tonight.
they "lost" 2 of my time slips before I could get them. we are talking less then 5 minutes after my pass.
I tried talking to the old lady about it but she really didnt give a damn, then I went up stairs, and the gentleman I talk to up there, really didnt care eather. He was just like, well go make another pass, but he didnt understand that I wasnt gonna go make another pass, and posible risk breaking the car.
It just really upset me that they really didnt want to help me out that much. I was trying to tune the fuel and timing tonight, but it was a little hard due to the lack of time slips.
But what can you do, maybe they will have there shit together next time. They just left a realy bad taste in my mouth

Kirk, don't forget to mention Jay Johnson's heads/cam LS1 w/ NAWS running 6.6 @ 103mph. :eek: SOM's Z28 was kicking out some low 7s at ~95mph.
The black procharged 4.6 friend of the Colony crew was badass. I think I saw a low 7 out of it.
I left at 11:30 and didn't get home till 1:00. It's to damn far for me.

It was and extra i had to borrow that co2 fitting to get his bottle ready and fill. It was a bitch the track is not ready at all in the nos fills. He will be ready next time. Btw thanks.

Yeah they need a 6an, they are only able to fill 8an, i think.

I was looking for a 6 but i couldnt get my 60' where it was 3 weeks ago in the heat. the car felt alot stronger on the street but the track didnt back it up. o well ran the same time all night which it never has, so im happy with that.

I saw older man in some red stock looking red fox body coupe out there with some ricer blow off or something..
It only went like an 8.3? so know way he could have had a turbo..;)

I had a totally riced out WRX (fart pipe, wheels, some stickers) popping off his BOV while we were in traffic a while back. Huge shitting eating grin and all. When I got the chance, I lugged it down a bit, stepped into the throttle someand just as I got next to him, dumped the throttle and popped of the BOV. He looked over at me real quick and then when he saw my shit eating grin he looked away and never looked back. It's moments like these that we all crave!
At other times when I want to be stealthy to get a race, it'll "chatter" between shifts and that's a dead give away....

Ah...Precious Moments! :D Purging has the same effect. It slapped the smile off of two guys in a '94 GT faster than a prostitution sting operation after they rev'd thier shit at me in traffic this morning!
Intimidating someone into tucking thier tail between thier legs is almost as fun as winning a race!
