a friend was going 107mph at the track tonight...but crappy 1/4 times...no traction at the track.

what 1/4 times would be expected with 107mph with some traction?

I think he said he had a 2.66 60 foot time.

-thanks

I've run as fast as 12.62 @ 106 with a 1.7 60 ft. Generally, I run high 12's at 106. That is on M/T ET streets and not enough practice.

I went 12.67 @ 105 in my fairmont wagon, but realize that tire spin will generally raise MPH... so when/if he puts slicks on it, he'll get down the track quicker, but his MPH will drop.

It defiantly does!

I think it's because the car is able to stay under power longer.. Slower ET(due to spinning) = Higher MPH. I have no real understanding of this but that’s the way I have observed it.

On street tire I can trap 81mph with 2.1-2.2 60', on drag radials I can only trap ~79mph with 1.8-1.9 60', guess which one gives the better ET. :D

I constantly run a 13.3@107 with a 2.3 60'(I know it's slow, no need to say anything)
