Don't know who he is, but a blue Viper w/white stripes (LPlate of "kdane" or something like that) just got owned.
This is my first official kill after doing the 8.8 rear axle swap (no more IRS!). I was at a light when he pulled up. I decided to start out in 2nd, knowing that Viper's usually don't get off the line very well anyway (and I didn't want to light up my tires in 1st). Got out ahead of him, maintained a 1/2 car lead through 2nd, but started to pull away as I hit my powerband in 3rd (my car is built for top end). That's when he decided to shut it down after getting owned and pulled a fast right turn. A decisive victory none-the-less (no surprises there)!
BTW, the IRS must have been absorbing some of my power, because the car feels like it has much more power getting to the ground now. BIG difference!

Hey Coop you need to race a Viper that has nitrous on it, for they think that they are unbeatable. So when you actually out run them they are even more upset with there cars. Good Job, hope the rear Axles work well for you.

Yea Vipers on the spray get a little angry when a little ole fox body puts the smackdown on him at the track in front of about 300 people. He came up to us in the pits and would'nt come near me for some reason but wanted to fight all the other people in my pit.

i ran into a viper in mesquite,but he would not race he said the car cost to much to tear it up.oh well good kill.
I'll run a Viper on spray if you guys can dig one up!

I shut up about my car because it is tuned with the little pulley. It isn't fast with this pulley, and wasn't supposed to be. It was either that or take the blower off and sell it. I will race you whenever you want. I was very proud of my high 11@ 128, it is almost exactly what I thought it would run. I am not trying to start shit, I just told Andrew and Al I had a friend with a wicked Viper. Everyone knows the cars he has had if they have ever been to the races in Dallas... He used to have a Yellow R/T on bottle, now he has a GTS King Snake... All I was saying was to not bet on smoking him. His cars are always VERY fast:p

What's his excuse? His garage isn't cooled/heated and its been too hot/cold?
I know this live axle is going to hold up better than the half-shafts. If not, at least I can get two 31-spline Moser's for less than one half-shaft, LOL!
Forest, I've got 4.30's in there right now, with the 2.97 ratio (1st gear) T-56. Sunday, I pulled the tranny and did an OD gear swap, so now it only revs at 2600 @80mph in 6th gear.
Marty, the Griggs TA and PB are not in yet. I wanted to locate the axle on the chassis, square it up with the GR-40 front end, and am still in the process of adjusting the pinion angle (bought double adjustable UCA's along with the Griggs LCA's).
Overall, I saved over 125lbs of weight. When the GR-40 rear goes on, it'll add 45lbs or so, but it'll still be at least 80lbs lighter than when I had the IRS in there. Since the setup is still fairly new, I didn't want to hammer it off the line (racing the Viper), hence easing off the line in 2nd. I have a feeling this thing will almost pull the wheels with slicks in 1st. Since I missed Fun Ford, I'll have to visit Ennis sometime in the next couple of weeks. I want to see if I can hit a 10.9 with it.

It's supercharged, 11psi boost. Heads and cam work made a big difference.

This guy's name wouldnt happen to be Danny would it? There was a guy with a yellow Viper on nitrous out of Mesquite that used to go to the street races all the time. It ran 11.90's on steet tires at Supra trap speeds. He was always breakin that car too, constantly bitchin about the shafts.
