got everything done thursday night. put the afr 185's on the car and went to Hallsville last night. untuned and on regular street tires in went 13.44@106 with a 2.29 60ft.
couldn't get ahold of my et streets soon enough last night and that is the last time i run on street tires. spun through 3/4 of the way through second gear, that sucked.
we'll see in a couple of weeks with some tuning and et streets what the car will really do.

bert,
Tell me about your combo.
I'm building a 392 stroker with AFR 185 heads for a '66 Cobra replica. I'm expecting ~400rwhp. Should be pretty darn quick in a 2300lb car. ;)
Just curious as to what all your engine has besides the heads.
With your ET Streets, you'll be in the 12s easy.

I have done quite a bit of research over the years on these and after looking at a number of completed cars..., and what best fit my criteria for quality in my price range, I went with Lone Star Classics here over in Ft. Worth.
With my schedule I don't have time to do the entire car myself...but what is really cool is that right now (due to the slowing economy, no doubt) they are doing the labor for free (well, they obviously have profit built into the kit). I was skeptical, but after adding it all up on the price sheet...sure enough, it will cost me the same to have them do as much, or as little of the assembly as I want.
What this means is the car will be completed in a reasonable amount of time (~Christmas) and resale will be higher b/c it will have the stamp of a professional builder, not some "yahoo". I'm not worried about my own skills, but a prospective buyer who doesn't know me might be. I know I would be concerned about a car put together by some guy in his garage...unless I knew the guy personally. But LSC is very cool and I can come over and turn wrenches whenever my schedule allows.
To the good stuff...
-Laser Red paint, black leather interior with white-faced gauges.
-FRPP 392 crate motor w/ AFR heads, Barry Grant Speed Demon 750cfm carb, Vic JR intake
-ceramic coated headers/side-pipes
-17" Halibrand (look-alike) wheels...315/35s in the rear
-Tremec 5-speed
-Currie 9" rear with 3.50 gears
-coil over SLA front suspension
-rear suspension is a _true_ 4-link coil-over(it's awesome)
Hoping for 400rwhp. I'm optimistic that this will be a conservative figure, but we'll see. Trying not to get my hopes up. I want a torquey powerband, and for peak power to be ~5800-6000rpm. If I was building a 4-bolt 351W, I'd seriously consider a solid-roller and 7000+rpm. Not in the cards right now, though.

wes- i have:
cobra upper and lower
b-cam
65mm TB
73mm optimizer Pro M
19lb inj
190 intank pump
1 5/8 shorty headers
2 1/2 h-pipe
3:55 gears
afr 185's
i know i definatly need bigger injectors and throttle body. i've been keeping everything quite simple cause i plan on going turbo. i have most of the stuff but i'm starting to change my mind and now thinking about selling all the turbo stuff.
