View Full Version : cobra's new fastest 1/8 mile at denton last night

I was just looking over my time slips and noticed that they are a little quicker then the previos fastest at Ennis. The previous fastest goes like this
r/t .527
60' 1.426
330' 4.080
1/8 6.246
mph 111.95

This is not a big difference but we are trying to get everything out of it as it sits. Then we will make a couple of changes and see what it does. The big reason why I am excited is cuz the weather was not good at all, about 80* with close to 80% humidity. It is also still spinning thru first.

I like the mph on the second one but that might have been cuz it spun a little more. I can't wait for FFW hopefully there will be some good air like usual and we will have a new set of slicks. I think we still got a couple tenths in it.

I know you will get better times with some cooler weather. I cannot wait for FFW either, especially after last night.

Good lord Manny! What Cobra are you running these times in? I take it that this is not a pump gas friendly vehicle?!!!

It is a 99' cobra, those runs were made on race fuel. It has 19-20 psi with no innercooler so it needs as much octane as possible. I'm sure if we lowered the boost a little and detuned it on the computer we can make it pump gas freindly but it goes against what we are trying to do with the car. I am very happy with what we are getting from the little 4.6.

i talked about that wih manny last night: he said you cant have an intercooler. in his specific class. no turbos, either!!

It's a FFW Renegade car, intercoolers, turbos, are not allowed, and only select blowers/pullies can be run. You cannot be competitive in this class with a street car. I believe they do have the fastest mod-motor car in FFW Renegade though. Almost the entire class is filled with 86-95 pushrod cars.
