I raced this guy about 9 o'clock tonight and knew by the sound of the Silverado it was far from normal. He told me what he had when we lined up,so I basically knew what was in store for me. I had him up until about 50 then I just sucked his duel exhuast the rest of the way. Got talking with him after, very nice guy, awesome truck. His name was Tyler he said he used to goto Colleyville (sorry I can't spell)Heritage, anyone know him?

Sure that he wasn't just running exhaust and a programmer. Those new trucks are that shabby. I'd like to see pics of that z06 motor in a truck. I'll race him at the track.

Oops! Meant that they aren't that shabby.

I raced against a new cheby half ton shortbox at ennis on friday and I was 13.55, he was 16.30. If that is not too shabby, then paint me happy and call me fast!!!

I doubt someone spent $12k to put a z06 engine in a silverado but anything is possible now days.

What were you in that got beat?

That's about the time most full size trucks run. add a programmer and a few mods then watch how quick that time drops. I'm planning on adding vortech heads and intake to mine which will drop me to 14's all motor. I predict 13's with a few more mods in a full size truck with a/c. Traction is the biggest enemy for trucks.

My buddies '99 Z71 ran a 13.8 at Ennis two weeks ago on street tires. Be warned!

Are you sure about that?!! What is he running? A 175 shot and 4 wheel drive. don't those trucks weigh like 5200# for an extended cab shortbed?

Assuming he trapped at 100mph, that would be 414 rwhp for that 5200#........

Dakota R/T's with vortechs, 4200lb and 365hp are ranging from 13.9-14.4.

where was that BS flag.......

Nope, he has a Hot Cam w/ Longtubes/Exhaust, 100 shot, and 4 wheel drive. (cut a 2.0 in 4 High) Nice sleeper on the street.

Then your math is correct because he ran a little under 100mph and dynoed ~300 hp NA.

A friend of mine had a 2001 Extended cab with a few bolt on mods and a programmer running mid-high 14's. With a little more tweaking it would be completely possible to get into the 13's. Next summer (keeping my fingers crossed) when I get my truck done and the slicks I'll show you a truck running low 13's. Later when there is enough $ in my wish fund I plan to add a SC with 150 hp on tap. I've seen plenty of trucks that can run with the cars and still haul a small load.

Yeah this kid's other car was a single turbo WRX with 600+ hp so i think he would shell out the money for the engine.

Most R/Ts et about 14.8 box factory stock depend on track and what not

Lots of Bolt-ons puts them in around the 13.5-14.0 range

I know several people with bolt-ons (no internal work at all) and 100 shots in the 12s

Hey Jeff - I'm your huckelberry.

Sorry for the 2 month old thread. I just found it. - I'm going to Ennis tomorrow night. You wanna meet me there? Should be some cool weather - your advantage in the HD. I'm the guy that tried to set up a race with you in July at Redline. Rained out - remember? I'm gonna shoot you an email just to make sure you get this.

Lets play!

Dang it. I saw you run that 13.3x. I was waiting in line to run behind you. It was moving slowly and I only got one run in before they closed the lanes up. I saw 1 black HD and a grey one earlier in the evening. I asked those guys if they knew you, but they didn't.

Oh well - next time. I would have posted the video up of our run if we had raced.

I ran a 13.13 @102.

trucks can be fast but they are very heavy and bad traction problems. believe me, i have a 73 chevy (blue lead sled tank) is what i call it. it is my racer and daily driver. 7.58@89.9mph 1/8
it can be done but it takes a lot of trial and error. i am still working the bugs out:D

How does a 7.33 sound in 4500 pound short bed? That's with a 1.6x 60ft. and no traction devices what so ever. It's driven every day, too.
