My neighbor has a F*rd Exploder(not sure of the year, but it's a newer one). He has a factory alarm on it.
It goes off by itself. Sometimes in the middle of the night.
What would cause this? Any ideas?
If it is from Ford (<---not a bad word Nick), then it should only have door protection on it which means it should only go off when a door is opened. If it was added by the dealer, it is most likely an improperly adjusted impact sensor. The sensor is usually mounted on/near the steering column and turning the knob counter clockwise will reduce sensitivity.

I don't think it is the impact sensor. You can hit the windshield pretty hard and nothing happens. I don't know if it is a F*rd unit, or an aftermarket unit. All I know is that it goes off at 2am sometimes
Never said it was a bad word. I just thought it needed a "*" in there :D

Disable the Alarm Clock feature of the alarm and she should be allright :D Seriously, it could be a defective impact sensor (which would explain why hitting the windshield wouldn't set it off) or someone was screwing around with the car every night at that time
