This is a site that has autoX events. My buddy Aldo said that it is mostly Bimmers, but he races his riceburning POS prelude there.
Motorsport Ranch is south of FtWorth, Texas World down at College Station.
If you want to run, your best bet is to hook up with an event.
http://www.thedriversedge.net is a good place to start.

Besides the ones mentioned above, there is also Hallett in Oklahoma, between OK City and Tulsa. TWS in College Station is really your best bet though. Hook up with the Texas Motorsports Club or the Porsche Club (you don't have to have a Porsche). I drove about 300 miles on that track one weekend for about $250. Of course, I had to replace tires and brake pads afterward (car had 15k miles on it), so it really cost alot more, but it was definitely worth it. Got to compete (although not truly race) with all kinds of cool cars - M3s, 911s, Vettes, NSXs, Vipers, Ferrari 348s and 355s, a nice kit Cobra, and a Diablo. There was even a Ferrari F40 out there, but it was in a different group than mine.
